I think for another insect for Planet Zoo exhibit animals they should get monarch butterflies 
to put in as an exhibit animal. I think that would be cool

I’m all for it. There’s lots of critters that don’t have representation yet and monarchs would be a good rep. Heck monarch numbers are in danger right now so they could help with conservation credits.
Considering they gave us the terrapin a semi aquatic exhibit animal to complement the aquatic pack, maybe if there is an aviary/flying dlc they will include butterfly’s as they are a flying insect.

Monarchs are endangered in their native range, but are exceedingly common in introduced countries. I like the idea of including butterflies in some fashion, but the current exhibit isn't right for that. I've advocated for a special effect to simulate a butterfly house, but it doesn't seem like that's on the cards either, so perhaps a new facility would be needed.
Are you suggesting we get a new type of exhibit that would be better suited for butterflies similar to how we got the terrapin? Either way I’m all for it
I’d like a a butterfly house as well and I sadly agree that there does not seem to be much demand on the forums. Maybe there can be some out door garden with signs, flowers etc that butterflies can be around that guests can walk near?
To be honest, if Frontier says they will only make animals that can be individuals, imagine the nighmare with managing butterflies. Their life expectancy is not very long, it would probably be very micromanagery to constantly sell the offspring or having to buy new ones because you population died off already. Something like the current beetles. Not sure if I would like that. Maybe if there would be some automated system to selling/buying them, but I dont see Frontier to do it, as they would probably feel its not personal enough with the animals.
Butterflies are actually in pretty high demand. FoxyDee there raises a good point about how difficult they would be to manage, however.
Yeah, I'm suggesting some kind of butterfly house specific facility. The current exhibits do not lend themselves well to flying animals, even insects. Butterflies are usually given large aviary-like gardens in zoos, typically climate-controlled and walk-through for guest immersion. Having some kind of facility like that in the game would be ideal.
A few people including myself have in the past advocated for the possibility that butterflies be added as a special effect (like the waterfalls, fountains, and so on) rather than individual animals, so at least we could simulate something with building pieces and tropical plants, but recently on a stream (I believe, I wasn't there for it) Frontier said that they wouldn't be doing this because they want all the animals to be individuals. With that in mind the inclusion of butterflies does seem unlikely, which is a shame.
