Things you plan do do first in Odyssey

See if it's possible to walk from Elwood Camp to Ferguson Prospect on Wasat A2E (which is about 50km) as an early test for the on-foot planetary circumnavigation that everyone assumes I'm going to be doing.

And seriously ... for some odd reason I am really intrigued about Apex Interstellar so I'm definitely looking forward to leaving my ship behind, taking a mission and using public transport to go and do it. I guess I'm just really curious about how that whole game loop works. If that sequence feels real then it somehow profoundly changes my perception of the galaxy ... it's no longer a series of discrete activities accessible via my ship, it's a living breathing interconnected game world where my ship is just another method of transport. I wonder if there's a limit to how far you can travel via Apex Interstellar if you're prepared to make a whole series of short range hops? (I'm assuming we'll only be able to travel 20ly or so in any one Apex journey).

2018 : Out exploring with my DBX
2019 - 2020 : In the bubble unlocking pretty much every engineers, engineering ships, mining, bounty hunting, getting my FC and getting involved in CGs.
2021 : Out exploring and enjoying the new planet tech, taking spacewalk and scanning plants. I plan to do my first spacewalk at the edge of a canyon on an icy planet ;)

Fly through the air of the tenuous atmosphere worlds in and around my home system, take in the blue/red/whatever other color skies, go for a sunset drive in VR.

Not really interested in walking, since walking anywhere I want to with full VR support will likely take a long time to implement.

I will however enjoy watching commanders in ships blowing up people on foot.

Get my headphones on, crank the volume up and find an ice planet to land on. As extreme a cold temperature as possible.

Then marvel at the work of the sound design and visual design when I step foot outside my spacecraft for the very first time, and just take it all in.

I am so so so looking forward to this moment.

As a side note I don't think I have ever clicked as many likes in one single thread before as this one, it's awesome to hear what everyone has planned and it's given me some ideas too. Every one of us here deserves a little spark of joy to look forward to in 2021, and as rough and ready as the first few days of release may be, Elite Odyssey is that little spark :)
