cargo missions

Are the rewards for cargo missions now where FD want them to be (balanced I suppose), about 4-10 times less than a few weeks ago.
I understand they wanted to nerf the profits for metal cargo missions, a problem they caused, but sometimes it seems they are intent on destroying their own game.
Rewards way down; and strange cargo sizes (294t) so they do not fit easily in a mid-size ship.
Their game of course, to do with as they wish.

Depends what you mean by a few weeks ago.

Before they began balancing stuff I thought cargo missions were close to perfect where they were. I'd say they're not now, they are just a bit too weak. And they definitely weren't right when fdev inadvertently changed them to pay tons with the mining balance.

Back when you could get between 5m and 10m for 180t haulage, without commonly seeing those missions, it felt good. If they just bumped the frequency of higher paid versions for higher ranked traders, it would have been lovely.

Edit: I'm talking from the perspective of a Tycoon and higher trader getting Elite missions - the scaling for rank works great, tested with my alt.

Indeed it is
But even I have noticed that the cargo missions I prefer have all but disappeared from my usual 'circuit'... I'll have to look further afield to make my fortune needed to buy the 10k/t of Tritium I'll need soon!

Yes, I meant standard bubble mission cargo rewards before the recent the balancing started, which are now 4-10 times less than they used to be seemingly forever.

Agreed with Ydiss that they feel a bit too low now - especially when source missions for the same goods are still very profitable.

Of course, they still pay far better than bulk trading in most circumstances. 108 units of Superconductors transported just under 25 LY for ~1.5 million credits, is over 13,000 credits/tonne of profit. There aren't many trade goods that give that profit, and none that do it reliably.

This is to a large extent the real problem with credit balance - they've got the high end for people going all out for money balanced reasonably well now, but the balance for just generally flying about doing stuff is now all over the place.

I'd say ABA fits fine as a precursor but the effort definitely no longer matches the results. It's not hard but it requires effort.

Much easier to just do missions now.

So yeh, I agree.
