Galnet Update 22 DEC 3306 - Investors Take Control of Lakon Spaceways

Guilty as charged for murder of the English language, yer 'onner :devilish:
(It did take a couple of 'tries' to get right!)

If you really want to kill your language skills, read Riddley Walker:

Its a fantastic post apocalyptic novel.

I just had a odd thought...

if they merge the assets of the two companies...

This may be a strategy from Frontier to discontinue the less popular ships from the game. its often done in real buyouts... keep the best... drop the worst and maybe the worst from the purchaser as well

That would make no sense for a game, though, so I'm not concerned about that.

Rather I hope they'd use it as opportunity to update some of the lackluster ships to be at least slightly better, what with all the balance passing they've been doing anyway. IIRC the Type 7 has an inactive medium hardpoint that would make it a pretty good core miner.

Its the INA (Integrated Networking Association) part that gets me the most about VAG (Volkswagen, Audi group)

Global sharing of parts is a great idea, until a part is broken

Would make no sense if they TOOK the ships away from current owners... but Elite has plenty of legacy items... so it would work just fine... Imagine this.... suddenly people start looking at ships they never use as COLLECTORS ITEMS just before they are discontinued lol

I've seen the design ideas for the panther clipper. I'm not sure why anyone is frothing at the mouth for yet another unimaginative and stylisticly boring ship.

Serving what, a role of hauling more crap than anyone else that doesn't need to exist given how much wealth can be made with the current ship's capacity in hauling crap.

what we need is the Dredger back in the game. But human pilotable. I want to run thru battle fields and dead ships (maybe some live ones that aren't paying attention) and recycle them into things i can sell or use.

Because of the 2000 tons of cargo and the spinal mount plasma beam cannon of course

When big ships behave like big ships and piracy is viable and not some joke mechanic that requires everyone to agree to it to function and npcs are actually threatening to human pilots. Then an even larger cargo hauler would add something to the game. Otherwise it sounds like just another way to make credits worthless faster and a waste of design / developer time.
