Summary
System: Musca Dark Region PJ-P b6-1
Station: Betancourt Base
(Coriolis Starport, large pads available, 172 Ls from main star, 520.11 Ly from Sol)

Reward reached: Tier 4: Two weeks a three times the payout

The original post should be updated to show the expiration date of the "exploration data bonus" of three times the payout.

The CG started December 3.
The CG completed December 10.
Two weeks after CG completion would be December 24
I assume the deadline is December 24 or does the exploration bonus actually end December 25 so it is two weeks AFTER completion.

My guess is as the bonus activated on 11th with the daily tick (+server data migration time 1-1.5-2 hours), adding two weeks (14 days) points to an end on 25th with the daily tick again.

This was my calculation, also. Start date was Dec. 11, plus 14 days is Dec 25. The daily tick sounds logical also. In reality I'll be delivering my UC data a day or so early. Safe travels CMDRs.

I just flew out to Betancourt Base from gathering about 55mm credits of data around the bubble, and I'm terrified out here. Not only are the systems within a jump of Betancourt Base's system filled with non-human signals, but Betancourt's system itself is filled with them. And they aren't that far out. I decided to not even scan planets in the last system in my sequence, just raced to PJ-P B6-1 to drop off my credits x3.

In the past I have lost a boat-load of exploration credits due to death. Not something I would want to experience again. I understand your fear.

Should be more worried about other humans to be honest...

Goids will generally keep themselves to themselves unless you go provoking them.

Having just had my first encounter with a hostile Thargoid vessel this last weekend, I would tend to agree that other humans worry me more...

Got pulled out of hyperspace by the Thargoid and thought ok, be nice to finally have a look at one up close, I slowed my Asp Explorer to a stop then, as the Thargoid approached it scanned me, followed shortly by it launching a barrage of missiles. I'd just been salvaging Thargoid Scanners at a wreck site and I don't think the Thargoids approved of my doing so.

While my Asp does have weapons and shields, they are really just for show and its not really meant to fight, so as my shields failed and my hull started disintegrating around me, I implemented the RSLG* maneuver and boosted away and back into hyperspace, before making a beeline back to the bubble with the AFMU busy patching up my ship's systems.

In years gone past Thargoids used to be a serious threat, pouncing on passing ships whenever they felt like it, now it seems like they just leave you be and stick to their own worlds or NHSS, unless you happen to be transporting their technology (and I can't really blame them for getting annoyed at that). Human pilots however, have been known to attack for no other reason than "because I can" and don't always bother scanning before attempting to destroy a vessel...

Well, my point was more about the atmospherics. To a new player, it's already intense to be 600 LY outside of more familiar areas, there's system after system after system with not much going on, then suddenly there's hundreds of signals, they're non-human, and they seem to be surrounding my destination point.

I didn't know to look for them when I first visited Betancourt Base, but this trip there definitely was the felt sense that they were maneuvering around the base with ultimate nefarious intent. It was neat; I wasn't expecting to feel frightened in this game, but the combo of very valuable cargo, weariness from too much jumping and scanning, the loneliness of the Coalsack... it got me!

Oh I get the atmospherics, particularly as you say for someone newish that wouldn't have been far out of the bubble - that fear of the unknown makes it interesting. I'm just a little sad that unless I'm missing something / very lucky, the Thargoids are currently not a threat, unless you go looking for a fight with them.

Isn't this special. Returned to the system with Betancourt base today. Wen't in solo just to be safe. Getting interdicted and for some reason I can't escape it. For gods sake, have pulled out with a heavy Type-9 and now I can't do it with an Anaconda? Exact same second as I exit hyperspace ship explodes. Didn't have time to do anyting at all. Great christmas gift. Yay hooray. [END RANT]

Checking ED Discovery it seems that I was in public mode not solo. Ah well. It was only 360 mil something..... :( Eff gankers. Go play GTAO or something.

I've had that very same feeling of foreboding. I'm sitting in my own living room, but still there are times I get the shivers up my spine.
