Newcomer / Intro Galaxy - Wide Fine?

I ran a wing mission solo once (Move Widgets from Station A to Station B) that had a fine of 53 million credits I think it was if I didn't complete the mission...at the time I had 56 Mill in the bank.

42 trips (21 round trips) to finish it...every time I left the station, my buddy the pirate was waiting to steal my cargo...beat his interdictions every time...but was a real pain in the butt.

So yeah, when you look to take a mission, definitely pay attention to the fine portion of the deal in the event you can't complete it. They can be very costly indeed.

Take Care and Happy Holidays Commander! o7

Don't bother. I need a better ship first (been watching U-Tube clips), but I need credit to buy a better ship and I need to R2R to get credit which I need to get a better ship .......
ITS ALL CRAP!!!
I'm going back to doing Courier Runs. It's easy and manageable in my basic ship. ;) Thanks anyway. (y)

You don't even need a DSS. Plot a route of 10 jumps (or just randomly pick 10 systems close by, doesn't matter which). Fly to those systems. Use FSS to scan all those places. Sell data. You can literally have millions in about 15 minutes. Maybe 20.

Sorry. I sound ungrateful and I'm not. It's just that it is easy if you have the other skills, the right ship and the other tools. I don't have any of them so it's not easy for me. Let me get back to the basics, and as Para says: " ..... get out of the noob-zone and blah, blah, blah ..... ". Exactly! (y)

Interest ...... In getting back to Matet, I flew through quite a few other galaxies and was able to sell their details at Coeho Stn. That was without using the FSS during the return. Hence, it wasn't worth millions but more like a couple of thousand credits which I was very grateful for. Your "FSS option" is definitely worth considering. Thanks.(y)

But what about getting to Inara ? 😲 And where is it ?

The last one: Type in the system you're in, then select Interstellar Factors, then Search. A list of the nearest ones will then appear below that. :)

If you know a fine is coming its worth buying a second Sidewinder once you leave the newb zone and letting the fines ,forever accumalate on that ship that never leaves the station you store it in ;)

I think maybe too much brandy butter. Fines are applied the ship you are in when they are incurred. They won't "accumulate" on a different ship that "never leaves the station you store it in".

I've killed nobody or anything that I know of, however, I have abandoned quite a number of missions. Could be up to 5 or 6.
However, I think I'm being heavily fine for abandoning missions that is the problem. I just didn't realize how unfavorably it was seen. :(
Thanks

Indeed and not with standing brandy butter I try not to be in my mission ships When I know Fines are comming for abandoning/Failing missions

;)

I see what you meant now - swap into a dirty ship before abandoning a mission.

I just pay-off fines, I have sort of OCD about stuff, running-up fines is one of the things that makes me have an itchy brain - not as bad as the idea of having an insurance claim in my stats but getting there.

Yes ...... That's my intent. I'll pay my fines. 😉

Man it bugs me no end that I have a single, measly 44k insurance claim on my stats. Not because it's there, but because I literally cannot recall where it came from. I honestly can't remember dying even once but I guess I must've? Only time I can remember blowing up anything is a single srv I had to abandon cos it got stuck, before I knew about the log out trick. I guess I died sometime really early on right a the beginning of my career in like a sidewinder or something but hell if I just do not have that memory in my brainspace.
