Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

From what you said I guess the 30Ks started happening when US players started playing. Higher load, more breakage.
I suspect so...mainly because the overflow of US players always seem to end up on the EU servers, mostly the ones that select 'best' from the server list rather than a region specific tab. I also suspect that the overflow from overloaded regional servers onto less populated regions is by design rather than accident.

So you assume malice over incompetence? :D
Nothing as drastic as that, mere logistics. It saves Ci¬G quite a bit of cash doing it that way rather than extending their server network...simples :D

The US has the largest number of SC players by region, followed by France then Germany on the EU servers (Only guessing judging by languages commonly used in the game chat)...the UK sits quite squarely near the bottom, but we share servers with eachother...and the Russians, Czechs, Norwegians, Finnish... etc, etc. All of us have better connections to the Aus server than the Aussies themselves do...which would suggest their servers aren't really in Aus. :)

I don't know whether this guy is just simping or is just a moron.

Comments as usual are a fun read

Ever heard of Microsoft Projects or Jira?

Followed by...

To be fair, neither of those provide a customer friendly project overview like CIG does. We use Asana and waste a lot of time to present progress updates to our investors.

LOL

And

In March they finally publicly admitted that they stopped updating the SQ42 roadmap, but they already stopped updating it in Q3 of 2019, so it took them more than a year to come up with this idea and implement it. Over 3 years ago, we already had this Gantt chart style roadmap with less information but essentially the same info: telling us for when a feature is planned, and how long it will take to implement, so I guess we are back to square one.

A voice of wisdom

CIG really needs to stop letting CR talk to the public. A lot of the communication issues we've seen have been him guessing or hypothesizing about things, and the public taking it as absolute truth.

That's not a CR problem, more like a "public" problem.

Ah! So its a problem of the public when CR says something they take it as being the truth!

So, he's basically saying, everyone should know that CR is full of manure.

Some people really do have their heads up their own rear ends.

I will never understand why some people say Star Citizen is in "pre-alpha" stage.

Erm, perhaps because CIG say it as well.

Well, until CR's latest letter, where they are moving towards a released game narrative.

They must have broken those beacons then. You did not used to get paid unless the person ended up at their location.

Or the OP is doing something wrong.
Nobody really uses the old beacon payment system any more, I suspect he's sending him the credits through the mobiglas app before the guy gets there...there are some stupidly naive people playing Star Citizen. :D

A line from National Lampoon's Animal house comes to mind here... "You f****d up, you trusted us!"
