Taxi!

Cobra MK3 in my case. Partially engineered for extended FSD range. I am however slowly falling in love with my Phantom after 5k ly trip to unlock Palin... There is more space for SRVs and extra fuel etc. I really, really like this thing...

AspX, 59.15 ly range (explorer setup)

I use it to quickly return home from some distant CG planets and then call those big ships to follow me.
Or using it to put experimentals on smaller weapons/modules for other ships.

Depends on what tickles my fancy but the one ship I explicitly built as a taxi is my Dolphin. Comes with a small cargo hold and a passenger cabin but that's mostly for RP reasons and less for actually doing missions. Ever since my Explo Phantom got to 70+ ly range my jumpaconda sees hardly any use anymore but one of those is usually what gets me around when there's some distance involved.

I use Gef, my Cobra MK 3 starter ship.
It's old, with many original modules from 3300, but the seat first my bum perfectly.

Your usual Exploration ship it's the easiest choice but...for taxi I still use my old DBX ,decommissioned from exploration, totally weaponized and armored with its nice SRV and can still jump 60ly because it happens now and then that some noob try to interdict you, and so to present them with a nice rebuy screen is fun :ROFLMAO:

This.
Brewer Corp Drake class Fleet Carrier is my bubble bus now.

The problem with this is, you can often get there and back, wherever that might be, in a half-decent taxi before your FC has spooled-up it's FSD.... and cost you Cr100k.

Speaking as somebody who enjoys successfully planning things, I always try to send my FC ahead to wherever I'm going to be after I've finished what I'm currently doing.
I'll jump my FC to, say, somewhere I can gather mat's and then I'll send it to a mining site while I go to a mat' trader so I can meet up with it to swap to a mining ship and go mining.
This gives me a warm fuzzy feeling if I manage to arrive before my FC, and I also get to see the show as it arrives.

Side-note; for anybody who was wondering, your FC won't ever crash into you as it arrives. You can actually prevent it arriving by loitering in it's arrival path.

Dolphin. Because Flipper Boost!

I'm a fan of the Dolphin too.

1) You can fit a big scoop, so all you have to do is dive past the star to refuel.
2) It simply won't overheat, no matter how close to the star you get.
3) Since it doesn't overheat, you can jump even when you're right next to the star.

Overall, that more than makes up for the slightly reduced jump range over say, a DBX.

Range is not that important really. What's a couple of extra jumps? I use a Dolphin when I travel with the wife and kids, DBX, iCourier, even Eagle or iEagle when I need to impress the locals.

OP, what I'm doing at the time and what capabilities I need makes the decision.
This. I don't have a specific chip tha tI use just for getting around. I'll move in whatever I need for my current task. Even if it has lower jump abilities, simply because jumping in something else, then paying for a transfer/waiting for it seems pointless to me.

I used to have a few Haulers scattered around the bubble, however with their tacky interior and poor handling, they are no fun to fly.
So I upgraded to Eagles. I nearly forgot how fun to fly they are. Also dirt cheap to transfer.

What’s everyone using as their Bubble Bus?
You need to get from one end of the bubble to the other, what’s your preference?

I was torn between the DBX and Krait Phantom. In the end I went with this fully engineered Phantom Build:-

50LY+ jump range, 500+ speed, can handle itself in a fight (although I don’t go looking for action in this, I certainly don’t panic when it finds me... those Beams will fire literally forever and I have enough shields and armour to last), 2 second KWS for the payout, DSS and SRV if I come across anything pretty or need a few mats, I carry 8 limpets and have 32t cargo if I find anything.

To get me from A to B, I really like this thing, but... what’s your choice?

I have used for bubble taxi duty only:
Haulers
Dolphin
Diamondback Explorer
Krait Mk II
Krait Phantom
My Explorerer Anaconda

I have also couple of multi purpose ships that can do combat, but is more for mission running, material gathering, light exploration like visiting Guardian sites etc.
Asp Explorer
Krait Mk II
Krait Phantom
Anaconda

So it sounds like you have good idea to have a multi purpose ship, that can do most of the things Elite has to offer, without having to think to much about what loadout you need to change. So just get on your way and do something.

So the both Krait ships are great ships for this purpose, the DBE is a fun chip, but if you need todo alot of fuel scooping then the limit of the fuel scoop is going to be a bother.
I have also tended to replace cargo racks/fuel scoop with fuel tanks to avoid the fuel scooping altogether, just go to my destionation and back, works great for when I do bubble things, less so when doing Guardian ruins stuff.

I started off using my original Sidey, then engineered it up. Next, I moved to a DBX cos of it's 65+ ly jump range. Now, though - as others have stated, I use a carrier, cos it goes anywhere in the bubble in one jump and holds my entire specialised fleet.
