Did Community Goals vanish again?

I know there was a whole lot of complaining about the module reward a few weeks ago, but this is now the 3rd week without a CG. We've had 21 CGs since they made a comeback a few months back, and I'd really like to get that achievement done before everyone spoils the fun by complaining about freebies.

Please bring them back. kkthxbai

I mean this is Britain we are talking about, 2nd week of January is about the time MOST people/work restarts,(for example) council's rubbish collection has not happened last week/this week for us.

I'll wait until the end of January without any sign of CG/Odyssey news to start worrying.

I do think fdev should consider adding less PS4 achievements in future content. There's this thread where the OP doesn't care about CGs for immersion, story, things to do, but just as a checkbox - and others starting to appear where people are buying FC because apparently that is an 'achievement'.

Fair enough people doing CGs or buying FCs because they want to, but doing it for some award - ick.

During my PS3/Vita console days I caught myself playing like that (hunting trophies was more the "game" than the game itself), I'm glad I don't bother with this anymore as it sucks all the joy out of many games (others may beg to differ of course), and Steam cheevos are less intrusive and I normally ignore them - and my main account is via Frontier so the only bucket list I have is my own, in my head.

Well, when Odyssey drops the achievements will probably be broken again anyway. ;)

Since I got the game in May, 8 months ago, I've clocked well over 700 hours in Elite. Yes, I play Xbox and hunt achievements, but that isn't my only interest in playing Elite. For me, it's rather a "check the box so I can be done with it and do things I like", like Thargoid Wars.

I hated CQC, but I did it.
I bought an FC, and I LOVE it.
Those 1000 Thargons... Lord help me, I'm gonna do it, but I'm going to resent every second of trying to check that box to finish it.

But even after those are done, it's not like I'm just going to quit the game. I've spent more time on Elite than any game in recent memory, and I play a LOT of games. Don't dismiss me just because I'm trying to "check the box", I wouldn't be doing that if FDev hadn't put the box there to begin with.

So yeah. I hope that CGs haven't vanished again like they did last year. Once I check that box, I can go back to deciding whether or not they're worth my time, but for now I have 4 more to go.

Yeah... no. It's more a question of "are they gone again", which is a totally valid question since they were gone for months. Like I said, three weeks. I'm at work, I've been at work, don't give me crap about being on holiday or anything because that's just plain ignorant. I've said nothing of the sort, and even if I had, what of it?

And sorry... do you work in health care right now? Have you any idea what that's like for us?

I'm curious if it's a pattern, or if they're coming back. It's not like I'm the only one who's interested in them.

Edit: I missed the forum post about how there wouldn't be any for the rest of the year, and then I missed that response in this thread. Thank you for that. Question answered. :)

Well yes as a matter of fact, I am a doctor and working in health care. I know all about the current Covid-19 headache, things are messy at work.

And if you read my post correctly, I meant it as a joke, I wasn't trying to make you look like an idiot or something. That's why the laughing emoji and that Greta Thunberg meme :LOL:

No, they definitely aren't gone again, they've been a great success and Sir Arthur of Tolmie can be trusted when he says they have an ongoing storyline of CGs and events planned into 2022.
