Elite / Frontier Pondering Elite(s)

hi guys, heres a quick one to get the old brain cells running, can anyone rememeber the two systems in fe2 that you could trade gem stones between? one would pay you to take them away and the other then buy them for silly money. or was this a bug that has since been corrected? i cant for the life of me rememeber where they are! merry christmas to all the fellow frontier lovers!

One of them is Cemiess. It lies somewhere in imperial space, although I don't remember the exact coordinatess.

Ah good old Cemiess. Doesn't work in FFE though, only in Frontier.

Cemiess is in the west. Perhaps 10AU south of Sol and 20-30AU west.

It was clearly a bug though, so if you use it you are cheating/exploiting. Up to you.

>.< ly man, ly.
Saturn is almost 10AU from the Sun.

(i would love a mission that lets you explore planets and then receive a finders fee or something)
Actually, there's a thing... Remember the old EA game Starflight? It was a top-down-type thing, no real simulator aspect to it, and it didn't bother with things like physics to any great extent... But I remember being utterly absorbed by it when I was younger; and it had a great atmosphere. Followed up in more colour by Starflight II: Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula.

You could explore the (admittedly fairly limited) galaxy (or bit of galaxy), scan and land on planets, collect specimens and mineral samples - and in the first game (not sure if it carried on into the second) if you found planets fit for colonisation you could name them and receive a payment.

Just being able to name unexplored systems and planets in FFE would be great.

Maybe those clever bods who did Oolite could re-work FFE ? :D
(looking at this forum for ideas to use in re-working FFE)

And maybe DB & Frontier would let them (or Gametek, whoever holds copyright)

And if that happened, I would start worshipping all involved as gods. :D
