Rip off

So I entered into a contract with Frontier as follows. If I linked my account to Twitch and watched three hours of terminally boring gameplay then I would get some 'drops' such as coloured engine thrusts and lasers.

I did all of this and nothing happened. When I reported it, Juice (as they are too worried to put their real names it seems) said basically tough luck implying I had not followed the instructions or something.

I cannot expect a refund after so long playing but I can cancel the upgrade, uninstall as enough is enough, and tell people how crooked they are.

Shame really, with over 500 million saved and the best ship in the game fully upgraded. Ah well. The question is whether to refer this as a breach of trading standards as you cannot make an offer in this Country and then break it because you simply cannot be bothered.
Let me guess, you just opened the stream, muted it, and then opened a different browser tab? In that case, from what I've seen from Twitch, the time will not count towards actually watching the stream.
If not; did you actually claim the drops? They needed to be claimed both on Twitch and on the Frontier page to be available in game.

The twitch drops were for a specific twitch stream. Not any twitch stream. And you had to watch it live 3 weeks ago, so, you seem a bit late to the table.
My thinking too.

I missed the first twitch drops....well really I couldn't be bothered to around with it, when the trial was done.

Though for the xmas tiwtch drops, I did both watch the stream & get my drops, despite my loathing of these social media sites, that I usually avoid..........

.........but then again, not being sure how this kind of stuff works, I READ Frontier's post explaining how it works & how to link it all together & BINGO:D. It wasn't hard to realise after 15 mins watching whether you had got the first drop or not!!!

Maybe the OP missed that vital step.

You might have a point but it's not that hard. I only have a twitch account for freebies, and given how op frontiers freebies are i even managed to get it twice for 2 alt accounts.. with having very little twitch experience.

If it was actually difficult or obfuscated or nothing but implications until the last minute like the rest of their marketing you might have a point.

Whilst I might be in the same boat as you regarding not getting the drops, I totally disagree about the rest as its free stuff so no loss on my part for not getting it.

Besides my money is on the fault is with Twitch themselves since E.X. Warframe's Tennocon this year turned out so buggy on twitch's side DE(Warframe Devs) made and ran a special script about a week or two later giving everyone who login into the game(not the twitch stream) that day the free prime frame and the weapon that was offered for watching the stream.
Personally I would MUCH rather FDev keep cracking on Odyssey than wasting time on free stuff for the likes of you or I.:coffee:

Not a fan of promos like this, but i followed the instructions for one of the steams and got some freebies. It wasn't hard.

These things are technical solutions that you have to follow the instructions for. They can fail to work either because you didn't follow instructions or there was a bug. If the former, the fault is yours. If the latter, then the normal route would be to raise a ticket with the developer/partner to ask for it to be corrected. They may instead of course show where you failed to follow instructions.

The correct route is not to throw a wobbly on the forums about something we can't do anything about, except to take the mickey out of you for throwing a wobbly on the forums.

I think that the OP and all you part time Cmdrs have missed the real point here........
