CG predictions...

Thargoids: None of the incursions on Witch Head were repelled yet. Only 2 systems on Coalsack. I guess it's a galnet nudge towards total failure on Witch Head.

Colonia: I'm not going all the way to colonia for a decal

"One Experimental Habitat for space-dwelling lifeforms" - that sounds like a space installation? Those that don't have the docking pads, just the targets for piracy scenarios if the faction isn't in a "None" state.

I was wondering if they would add NSPs with the lifeforms. Not sure if the in-game text is more descriptive.

Just catch a ferry to travel there until you sleep at night. At the morning you can start to collect those Pod parts.
I more think about planetary settlements (like that zoo in the bubble), or more notable stellar phenomenas nearby.

One for @Jmanis this week ;)

DELIVER XENOLOGICAL SAMPLES REQUIRED BY COLONIA SCIENTISTS
The Holloway Bioscience Institute in Colonia is offering high payouts for delivering samples from space-dwelling lifeforms. Jaques Station, which is also in the Colonia system, has agreed to serve as the delivery point for this initiative. Chief researcher Dr Roy Casimir outlined the requirements: "There is still a huge amount to learn about the fascinating structures that grow within the vacuum of space. As our stock of specimens is running low, we require fresh tissue samples from living organisms to continue our experimentation programme." Pilots are requested to deliver Pod Core Tissue, Pod Dead Tissue, Pod Mesoglea, Pod Outer Tissue, Pod Surface Tissue, Pod Shell Tissue or Pod Tissue to Jaques Station in the Colonia system. If successful, decals will be rewarded to the top 75% of participants by the 15th of January 3307. Each successful tier will provide the Holloway Bioscience Institute with enough material and data to establish one experimental habitat for space-dwelling lifeforms in a nearby system, enabling it to further its studies. The initiative begins on the 7th of January 3307 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

Edit: "establish one experimental habitat"? 🤔
😍😍😍

Though, biscuits, Colonia. Guess I'm jumping jumping for a bit tomorrow. There's some decent sampleables close to Colonia hey?

This is something I'm actually really excited about getting - because the obvious place to put these habitats would be inside the NSP Lagrange Clouds in various systems, and one of those installations inside a cloud would be spectacular.

...which means I'm going to be really annoyed if the CG turns out to be impossible.

I was just being petty about the lack of consistent gameplay around them.

If they get placed within the NSPs it will be a pretty unique thing in itself, very interesting. I remember being very excited about the Lyz Rider CG - as even threatening to flip an engineer base is something that also doesn't normally happen in BGS. Same to all of those around new/upgrade stations or colonizing new systems.

Plus, I have this hopeful theory that when we get ship legs, those space installations may also be on the menu, and not as social areas only...

Have they posted Ettienne's competing CG yet?

Ettienne Dorn in Colonia is offering high payouts for delivering samples from space-faring lifeforms. Chef researcher Dr Roy Casimir outlined the requirements: "There is still a huge amount to learn about seasoning and preparing the fascinating foodstuffs that float in the vacuum of space. As our stock of specimens is running low, we require fresh tissue samples from living organisms to continue our experimentation programme." Pilots are requested to deliver Escape Pod Juicy Tissue to Dorn in the Colonia area. If successful, bibs will be rewarded to the top 75% of participants by the 15th of January 3307. Each successful tier of this pinkfleshycake will provide Dorn with enough material and data to establish one experimental take away facility for space-faring lifeforms in a nearby system, enabling it to further its studies. The initiative begins on the 7th of January 3307 and will nomnomnom for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

I don't think the charts are going to have much predictive value this week :) Seems most are planning a single dump near the end.

More evidence on what he is doing with his escape pods....

Aegis Supports Galactic Summit
08 JAN 3307
The organisation Aegis has expressed support for Utopia’s offer to host a Galactic Summit for all three superpowers.

Aegis was jointly formed by the Alliance, Empire and Federation to study the Thargoids, and develop new methods of monitoring and combating their forces.

Professor Alba Tesreau, head of research at Aegis, gave this statement:

“Humanity’s focus on petty internal conflicts has blinded us to the existential threat of the Thargoids. Their recent horrific attacks should be a wake-up call to the fact that defunding has crippled Aegis’s ability to offer protection.”

“We strongly entreat our founders to come together and channel resources toward Aegis, and particularly into research. There can be no hope of coexistence with this alien species unless we increase our understanding of them.”

No official responses to Utopia’s proposal have been made as yet. However, Prime Minister Edmund Mahon, Princess Aisling Duval and Shadow President Felicia Winters have all signalled broad approval of the idea. There are reports that many congressmen, councillors and senators are pressuring their respective leaders to attend the diplomatic conference.

Simguru Pranav Antal has confirmed that the governments of independent systems will also be welcome to send delegates to the Galactic Summit. However, Utopia’s primary aim is to provide neutral territory for the Alliance, Empire and Federation to debate policies.
