So I got my Imperial Courier...

And I love it!

Okay so points: 3 Medium hardpoints and this speed? YES. The sheer beauty of this machine. And it’s SPEED. I outmanoeuvred an Eagle and shredded him with bullets and seared him with laser fire. And it’s a great mission runner for Black Box or Commercial Samples or Courier or Small supply missions. Ideal for ranking up in the Imperial Navy. Long live the Emperor!

Grats on Courier.
And word of advice before you get hyped on Cutter - make a stop at Clipper and use it for a while. You won't regret.
As for Cutter, it may take some time, depends on how many missions and what type you take. In my case I was doing just love letters (aka data delivery) and it took me about a week from zero to hero. But it was weird time and your mileage may vary. Just keep doing missions and don't worry if you don't get rank up one after filling current rank requirement. Progress still counts towards the next rank and I had 2 or 3 follow up missions right after another and made large rank progress after some drought.

Keep it up and keep your eye on Clipper on your way.

Cheers.

Nice bike there, put three Plasmas,Enhanced Thrusters G5 Dirty/Drag,shield it up and then make it rock!
P.S.
And leave the Cutter where it is.

The Clipper is a surprising ship
I never understood the appeal, apart from the price and speed, python beats it on every other aspect.
I was very excited when I first got it years ago, but weird hardpoints and L pad requirement just killed it for me quite fast. I still own it but it's scrapped for parts and sitting as a storage ship.

iCourier though, surprisingly good and fun ship to fly.

Agreed,i've tried so many times with Clipper but Python and both Kraits are way much better in all aspects

Well at twice the price, I would hope the Python would outclass it. That said the Clipper makes a lovely core miner and once you get used to it the convergence for the Abrasion blasters is easy to manage.

It most definitely does.
Considering how credits were devalued, just the pad requirement alone is worth the higher price, not to mention extra hard point, larger power plant and distributor. As well as the ability to have stronger shields while having more cargo.

Unless you are a "poor new player" from 17millions to 42 it's not a big difference at all,Python and the two Kraits will outperform Clipper in every aspect,Large pads constraint AND Imperial ranking too.....no way.

but isn't much fun to fly (in my opinion) but as a 'transit van' is perfect!
Well mine is fully engineered and is a blast to fly, while remaining powerful. Honestly the pad requirement itself is just my biggest gripe against the clipper.
Clipper looks great, flies great but when I know I can't land on certain places it just kills it for me.
I can't find a good use for it, maybe now I can think of something carrier related, since I "retired" my clipper long before carriers were a thing.

Can you get the speed above 885m/s on the iCourier? It stops at 885 on Coriolis despite still having a good few core internals to D rate and ligtweight engineer.

I really want a fast courier ship to zip away from player interdictions. Initially I'd planned a Viper, which manages 886m/s with a decent shield. The iCourier manages 885m/s with the same outfitting, but like I say, despite D rating and engineering lightweight internals it doesn't go any higher.

Has anyone done something similar before I go wasting time gathering the mats?

Find a nice canyon... ;)
I know some of the members of my main's squadron use the Clipper for piracy too.

My mining Pythons are both G5 everything important and are excellent med pad haulers too, I wasn't berating the ship itself, just expressing the fact that, for me, it isn't a ship I have come to love - but know others feell entirely the opposite. (I have Cutters too, hate the 'Space Cow' handling even when engineered heavily, but as a hauler, first class)
