Im more worried about having to carry the limpets than the actual power draw on it.
Synthesize them as needed rather than carry them. You just a need a 4t cargo rack so they have a place to go when synthesized.

errrmmm... you only can get just about 65 kylies from Sol, then the Galaxy stops. You will start naming your limpets once you get about 20 Kylie's out.
100 Kylie's out you will wish you brought a co-pilot multiplayer Alt
A thousand Kylie's out from the bubble and you will pretend she is in the seat anyways.
Safe travels to you Pops!![]()
KGBFOAM now with me improved neurotoxinsTotally doable in any vanilla ship. Be aware of fuel consumption and "Oh Be A Fine Girl, Kiss Me" (that's right you youngens) for main sequence stars .
Not if you spiralSlightly different suggestion:
Coriolis EDCD Edition
A ship builder, outfitting and comparison tool for Elite Dangerouss.orbis.zone
You also may want to add a small laser - some alien lifeforms show reactions when tickled.
Reasons for my changes
...grumble... started to write the above this morning, then couldn't finish it, replied to Gully and it reappers. I'll still leave it for now, even though the xplanation is incomplete.
- A rated life support gives you 25 minutes per reload. People with a smashed canopy have made it back from the other side of the Galaxy in life support synthesis
- size 3 shields, because you'll have them switched off most of the time. You only need them for planetary landings, and you could use the space for a second SRV
- second SRV.

You're right. If you apply power management (or simply switch off the AFMU and a few other unneeded things), a 4A PP will do the job. 3A PD however is heavier and slightly less powerful than the 4D.KGBFOAM now with me improved neurotoxins ☣

My general rules for exploration ships: Downsize power plant and PD 1 notch A rated. Everything else D.
Get largest scoop and a mining laser, limpet controller with rack. Tiny shield as mentioned .
You don't need any type of engineering to explore. I am currently exploring in a bog standard T9. My jump range is only 20 ly's.
Im sure you'll have received plenty of good advice so far I. this thread, so I won't retreat that ground, but - welcome CMDR. o7First Post so if I’m doing this wrong or to long winded please let me know!
Is it possible to explore without any engineering or guardian upgrades? I have an ASP Explorer that with very minor engineering I’ve gotten to 33.13 unladen jump range and everything I need for exploring and some minor maintenance. I guess what I’m getting at is it possible to use this to explore, and hopefully/safely find unexplored systems? I’m not planning on trying to find the end of the Galaxy. Just get outside the bubble a little bit, go in one direction for 2,200ly+ and hopefully find some new systems/planets once I’m out there. I completely understand that it’s not the smart move to go without upgrades (trust me I rarely make those anyways so it’s not new) and I know it’s going to take me a gazillion jumps, but can I use this build to explore?
In about a week I’ve run from mostly penniless to Trade Tycoon through loop trading, and I am bored out of my mind. I’d be just fine not docking for the next month. This is my 2nd Account, first one was on PS4 and I couldn’t swap it to Xbox. Exploring was why I downloaded the game to start with, and the void is calling to me lol.
This is my build, as it is, and critique is appreciated!
Note Engineered Modules:
5A Thruster w/Clean Drive Tune (lvl1)
5A FSD w/Increased FSD Range (lvl1)
5D Sensors w/Light Weight (lvl 1)

Should you be interested in materials harvesting...I, just recently was in my Python in the bubble and just kept on going...too Colonia, LOL. I have ships I have that I could have used instead of a fully loaded Python which dose 34LY. I am presently sort of heading back to the bubble via a detour of somewhat. The only thing that might get you in trouble are a series of brown stars or non fuel stars unless you have those check off.
So yes you are good to go. Have fun.
