if they really wanted to make some serious coin, they would release C1 seismic charges in the ARX store. The paint jobs, decals, ship kits - none of it really matters when you are flying 99% of time in a cockpit. And it has been 5 years since Horizon came out, so will it be another 5 years later when some Paid Season comes next?
In 5 years i spent 1000's of $ on different games portion of which could have been Elite Dangerous. But there is nothing to buy... in Elite Dangerous. Even Voice Attack + Voice Packs aren't made by Frontier.
I sincerely hope with Odyssey this bizarre model will change and players like me that feel left out, would have a chance to spend something our money on in Elite Dangerous.
Premium modules. I like it. I think they should start by selling the gimballed AX weapons starter pack for $39.99. Or you can upgrade to the advanced AX Slayer pack for $79.99 that features gimballed "heart tracking" technology and comes with the experimental Krait MK3.if they really wanted to make some serious coin, they would release C1 seismic charges in the ARX store.
woah woah woah
if you want to spend a ton of your cash on pixels than you should try star citizen!
premium modules and ships really only benefit a small percentage of the playerbase (those of us that can budget and afford it)
While I would love to spend a few hundred $americabux$ on special ships and modules it would really create some huge gaps and anamocity between the already fragmented community. Remember some people don't have well paying jobs and even come from poorer countries.
As long as it doesn't become a financial competition I don't mind spending money for special ships and modules but there should ALSO be a way to grind them out in-game without spending any cash. Maybe have a separate currency like "Galactic Latinum (tm)" and allow that to be earnable in-game (like ARX) with the ability to trade that between players.....creating a truly player-driven economy.
Catch up mechanics
To be honest, I wouldn't be against a pay to progress model, bit like the shark cards in GTA 5. I wouldn't need them anymore, but I would of used it in the past I think, provided they were reasonable.Yeah, pay for progress kind of staff, like unlocking Engineers, or boosting through reputation grind - it would help a lot for new players to catch up with out making them overpowered compared to other players.
Catch up mechanics are very popular among other game and well accepted in todays world.
That's not gonna happen, and good. Also accepted doesn't equal being right. And also Frontier doesn't need "support" - they're a big corporate entity which is publicly traded and laugh at your pittance lunch moneyYeah, pay for progress kind of staff, like unlocking Engineers, or boosting through reputation grind - it would help a lot for new players to catch up with out making them overpowered compared to other players.
