Spacelegs should have no involvment/influence in BG's until Odyssey is released on all platforms

As the title reads, spacelegs should have no involvment in BG's until Odyssey is released on all platforms.

This will damage squadron standing in a very negative way...6+months can negate years of work in maintaining positions etc.

I fear this is a very overlooked aspect of the delay. Sure, we on console want a finished product just like anyone else. But at the cost of being 6mo behind?

Has this already been touched on?

But the current bgs activities will still work....
And there is no indication that the Odyssey features will be anything other than an alternative input. It would be wrong of them to have a greater effect than non Odyssey activities!

So I don't see it being a problem in any way, shape or form.

Ehhh... It SHOULDN'T have a greater effect on the BGS, but you could also easily argue that mining shouldn’t have paid 20 or 30 times more than any other career. It still did.

Thats true only if there isnt a specific odyssey BG.

You should have had that idea when they launched ED on PC only

Console burden race stays true to it's name, 'Everyone must stop, and wait for us to catch up!' ;)

Ribbing aside, I can't blame ya for feeling that way. I'd be irritated too, but I wouldn't have positive expectations in this regard. We're talking about the same developer that sees no issue with people effecting BGS from single player, so they clearly don't care about fairness of input for BGS. That alone tells you what to expect. On the bright side, maybe it will be the impetus you need to ascend.

I think everyone who wants the BGS disabled until Odyssey is released on all platforms must not understand how the BGS works...

Additionally, if it was required to purchase Odyssey to get a BGS advantage, then it would be considered a "pay to win" tactic, now wouldn't it? Not everyone who currently plays the game is going to upgrade to Odyssey when it comes out.

I suppose you could argue that Engineers in Horizons gave players a "pay to win" advantage that could be leveraged against the BGS via increased jump range, DPS, survivability, etc... and it came out on PC well before consoles. How is this different?

Unless I have misunderstood or last minute surprise both space legs and ship activities contribute to the same BGS system. It is not separate. And there does not seem to be any indication space legs BGS interaction will be more or less effective than regular BGS interaction. If that is the case it should not make much of a difference wether you do your BGS on space legs or in a ship, it will be just a matter of player gameplay style choice.

Horizons commodities - on release, anyway - were generally slightly more profitable than the original ones.

Having a wider variety of destinations available reduces the chances you won't be able to find a mission at all, even if "deliver to orbital" and "deliver to tenuous atmosphere surface port" missions give exactly the same influence.

I would expect it'll be an advantage, but such a trivial one in practice (especially with the BGS' logarithmic scoring) that it won't actually change the result of a single contested conflict.

There can't be, given the range of activities which influence the BGS, unless they're planning to also overhaul it from per-system influence to per-asset influence.

(Which would I think be a good thing to do, but is highly unlikely to show up in Odyssey having previously never been hinted at)

Also, being as it will be hyped up and the most popular new thing...everyone, including new players, and returning players to pc, will be doing it making the delay even worse for console players.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say a great many new players will be more concerned with shooting other commandos in the face and not faffing about killing npc to boost a player group or bgs lolz.
