Powerplay Modules - recommendations

Best thing about Packhounds is that they create a useful decoy.
Fire a couple of volleys of Packhounds (ideally, modded for Rapid Fire and with the drag XFX), then launch a grom-bomb or reverb-torp, then more packhounds and your target probably won't see the important ordnance coming.

As a direct comparison with the standard weapon, I'd say the Imp' Hammer is the best PP weapon.
The extra shots make it MUCH easier to score hits with a rail-gun.

APA's and Pacifiers are good too.
Prismatic shields are only good for single engagements (IMO) cos they take so long to recharge but they're good for things like cargo ships so you can either fit a tougher shield or fit a shield in a smaller slot.

I was running twin APAs on a trading python, took the time to engineer them to the max, then discovered I couldn't shoot for toffee.
Prismatics are really good especially on an imperial courier but the recharge rate on large ships IMO sucks.
Packhounds are fun when running drag munitions but work better when you target modules rather than just lock and fire. Also great for knocking out point defence and chaff launchers but they do less damage than a standard seeker missile if used factory fitted.
The best thing to do is to collect the whole set of pp modules and see which suits your play style best

Disagree,APAs and Pacifiers are my favourite ones,Enforcers do a nice job too,Packhounds have some use of all the bunch I don't care about Prismatics for instance,I suppose it's up to everyone tastes.

Pacifiers, enforcers and packhounds are OK, but APA's are utterly useless since the TLB nerf.

While pacifiers are better frag cannons, packhounds are better seekers, the enforcer cannon is basically a c2 multi on a c1 hardpoint, APA's are just worse kind of plasma accelerators. They sacrifice one of the most important advantages of PA's (high alpha damage), in exchange for a negligibly small potentional dps buff (which you won't be able to make use of in most cases, or only at the cost of having to fly less evasively, because you'll have to use your APA's like ToT weapons).

Prismatic Shields

Niche Use & Fun
Packhounds, APAs and Enforcers

Grom Bomb

I'd get them in that order. Get the rest if you want something to do.

I use mining lances on my mining ship. But I am a mentalist and mine in Haz-RES with turrets to shoot pirates, and Mining Lances can fire with the HUD in combat mode so you can keep mining whilst your turrets swat pirates.

Only reason i keep using them ! I love my T10 highres mining ship, enjoying a smoke while watching limpet working and pirate getting reckt by turret and slf is very relaxing.

I love my imperial hammers so if you like to play with rail gun, go and try them. Prismatic can be usefull but I don't use them much, packhound are great, I would recommand getting them... Cyto can be fun for small ship build, same for the enforcer. I'm getting pacifier next, can't wait tro try them on a vulture.
You should take a close look on elite wiki at each of the modules and choose what you will build next, that's what i do.

Watch those Imp Hammers, they can burn you up very quickly.

For me the Pacifiers are a favourite, very effective. Prismatics are good for trade ships and single engagements but take way too long to recharge for prolonged combat. Packhounds are just fun but, as Stealthie said, are good to generally confuse and hide other stuff in.

I haven’t tried the mining lance and I’m not sure if I can face all those key presses for it....maybe one day.

It was fun having a twin APA Vulture and TLB.

To quote myself ;) " All the Power modules have advantages and disadvantages" if this weren't the case no one would use anything else e.g. Imp hammers without the thermal issues yes please! or a retributor that actually does something!

Although I do agree that some modules are practically pointless or at least niche use only, or some of the experimental weapons only having enough ammo for a few engagements (step forward Shock Cannons! shame really as they look great).

The same applies to ships they need to have some disadvantages or we'd all be flying Krait mk2's/Phantoms (TBH the Kraits are pretty close), in the old Freelancer game the Eagle was the end game ship and only the talented or mad flew anything else.

Sure, why not, as long as your perfect killing machine can be found in Open.
It's always in Open and you are welcome to Shinrarta anytime, these kind of brags sound ridicolous to be honest, but to each his own ;) Words don't harm. Last thing, reread the postulate of the op....next time.
