Are Threat 6 wings meant to be this spicy?

There are some tricks to making it quite tame in Solo, if you're trying to press the easy button.

Also if it's a pirate hunting mission and you manage to find and interdict the target in supercruise the cops will eventually show up (unless it's an anarchy system) unlike in the actual mission instance which has the security response jammed. This has been more of an hindrance to me if they killsteal the main target while I'm still dealing with the escorts which results in the mission failing.

I'm so glad you didn't go with the 'Ainsley Duval' mash up.

Oh no. I only did a few more:

A large combat ship shouldn't have any trouble, but they can be tricky with a medium. Gunning down the beam Vulture first can help a lot. Chaff is also quite useful.

If you are using SLFs, it is best to focus one Vulture down ASAP if your ship can take the beating. SLFs vaporize against two of the Vultures, but can keep one occupied pretty well. If you got 3 Vultures, it's basically pointless to launch an SLF while they are around.

If you tag all of the targets and then have your SLF peel off the MC Vulture, Deadly or Elite crew can keep it occupied indefinitely, often even win, without assistance.

So i went in a soloed a threat 6 wing assassination, and let me tell you, it was sweaty, my engineered conda got out with 58% hull, about 90% on all modules from heat damage, and 3 fighers down.

Am i bad at flying or are those missions meant to be spicy?

Both i'd say.
I usually do them in a bi-weave corvette without losing shields.
