What would y'all say to more decals, like livery components sach as sharks teeth and racing stripes?

Just for future reference, consider putting images behind spoiler tags so you're not blowing up the webpage. Like so

I would say yespleasethankyaverymuchtakemyarx!*

*HOWEVER. Brewer and China need punishing for what they did to that RX-7. Sacrilege!

Seeing the results of the Art department (paint jobs/decals) I suppose they need someone with a bit of creativity over there,in the past I've modeled 3D stuff for games a lot and I can assure you that doing better skinning than the crap we have now is very simple and won't require a big effort.
For the past 2 years, they have managed to release 1 set of paint jobs that got my attention. Everything else looked like a sad effort in MS Paint.

The space cow PJ was a "bid for charity" event a few years ago, and it's a Unique thing, so I doubt they will release the space cow PJ for anyone else, not to mention the immersion people going for "cows in space". (But the green or white camo paint makes so much more sense, right?)

I'm all for appealing and interesting PJs, and if FDev want more of my money, start putting more skill/effort in designing paint jobs. FYI: Carrier PJs... big money to be made there. Just saying.

"Ah, but it'll be difficult to create decals that fit on every ship!!!"

Possibly so.

Just give us a simple tool that allows us to mirror, scale and rotate decals and then move them around manually.
Problem solved.

Same thing with "greebles".
Instead on buying a ship-kit, I'd much rather buy a kit of random ducts, tanks, hoses and aerials that I could just manually position on my ship.
If you could scale them manually (within reason) and move them around, FDev wouldn't have to worry about making stuff fit.
It's just be up to each player to move/rotate/scale parts to fit as best they could.

For starters, though, I'd buy packs of "occupational" decals.
Most of us have ships built for exploration, mining, combat, trading, carrying passengers etc.
It'd be nice to have something to visually identify a ship's role.

Said it before but it'd be a good way for FDev to interact with the community - and generate a bit of cash - if they created a simple decal-creation tool, gave it away for free and then let players create decals which, once finished, would be submitted to FDev (automatically, by the tool) and then FDev could pick some of the best ones each month and put them up for sale for a couple of hundred Arx each.

The problem with decals is they are too small to notice.
not sure about you, but even in combat, i rarely get up close enough to see the pilot, let alone the decals on his ship.
I see ship, I scan ship, I shoot ship. Preferably from far enough away so they can't shoot me.
