What's up with mining?

In 2 separate Painite hotspots, 32 prospector limpets and exactly 0 asteroids with any Painite. Not low % painite, none, zip, 0, zilch. Is it me or is this broken?

Yes. So metal rich only then?

No the issue there is that metal rich rings painite hotspots only have cores, not any laser mineable painite, so you'd be beating lottery odds if you happened to find one from just firing 32 random prospectors without also having used the PWA to identify rocks likely to have cores (or visually identified them by shape).

Next question would be how far away from the centre of the hotspot in the metallic ring are you because the falloff is quite drastic these days.

To answer your question simply, I'm not aware of any issues whatsover so I'm trying to think of any issues you may be having.

Edit: Just saw your edit and there's your answer. If you're laser mining painite, metallic rings hotspots only.

I just left a Painite hotspot 21k ly from the bubble and 250 limpets later not one painite rock, but I did get attacked by NPC so apparently NPC have special abilities to travel to deep space with short range ships.. Thumbs up to FDEV...

You weren't trying to help anybody out M8, you were being sarcastic based on incorrect assumptions..

No, I made a couple of detailed posts to another player explaining the problem that he was having, which seems on the face of it as if it may well be the same problem that you're having. Then I attempted to direct you to the same advice because your post read as if you'd done exactly what the guy right before you did, rather than looking to see whether there could be another reason why you managed to fire 250 limpets off without finding any of the resource you were looking for.

But as I said, I'm done with this.

It's a hotspot for cores. It works like any other hotspot for cores, in that it has cores with the indicated resource. It doesn't have any laser mineable painite though because it's in a metal rich ring and there is no laser mineable painite in metal rich rings, nor has there ever been.
Exactly! Thus, it's a "Notspot" for Painite cores.
