Lonely Bachelor here. That's part of the reason we don't supposedly see a more prominent female demographic, because "I have a boyfriend/husband, leave me alone". Of course, I can't speak for anyone but myself.

As to the whole gender thing, it is an online game about spaceships; meaning no disrespect to anyone, I don't much care about your plumbing and reproductive anatomy. My biggest concern there tends to be that physiology won't be denied, and "Bio" breaks are one of the laws of the universe.

I had a kidney stone once. I didn't know what was going on and they presumably thought I was strung out on something in the ER so I was stuck walking up and down the hall sweating and panting from pain for 3 hours before they gave me a blood test followed by a prostate exam from a guy with a chummy Texas accent of all things – no joke.
PSA: Never go to the ER in the US unless you're sure you're going to die otherwise.
