I just saw your comments directly in the youtube comments now. If I position myself above the T9 it works perfectly
Is megaship looting still broken?
Is there some kind of counter for finding these or are you guys just going for personal glory?
But you don't actually have a collection, right? Unless you store then on a FC?There is no counter or ingame reward for collecting the trinkets of the galaxy. Nor is there any great wealth to be gained from it.
Why do people collect things ?
I am not smart enough to answer that question sorry.
For myself I enjoy the search for the items and the physical representation of that search, as in the Presentation of the Collection.
which is what most people here do i suppose (i do).But you don't actually have a collection, right? Unless you store then on a FC?
Yup I store them on my FC too.which is what most people here do i suppose (i do).
mainrational for me is to provide testing samples, plus commodities for people doing the ram tah missions etc.
I'm at Hyfords cache at the moment but I can't seem to get close enough (trespassing warning) to use my limpets from my ship to collect the UDC. Is there a trick to this?
Does it means they fixed the scan that didn't retreive any message or your second slide is bugged? Here are the contents of the cache:

For "trinkets of hidden fortune" we can read that form the link below, about legal way to acquire them: "Trinkets while rare appear to drop regularly in two systems away from the bubble. Thor's Helmet Sector FB-X C1-5 and Seagull Sector DL-Y D3."Updated my Legal Salvage Sheet - added a Quick Find link thingy on the first tab.
Might be useful to someone.

behaviour onside is unchanged - so as long as poster does not share anymore info, there is nothing indicating how he got the "code" of the second slide.Does it means they fixed the scan that didn't retreive any message or your second slide is bugged?

Trinkets of Hidden Fortune
This container appears to hold an assorted collection of low-value trinkets, knick-knacks and statuettes. Such trinkets are generally used by superstitious pilots to try and win favour with the lady Fortuna. However, these particular knick-knacks have a much more valuable prize hidden within. —...elite-dangerous.fandom.com
Dont bother. Loads of NPC carry these trinklets but if you need to hatch them (or they drop them during combat) then they are illegal. I think I must have had over a thousand while playing but I never got a legal one.
Hostages are also relatively easy to find. And the only status they have is illegal. It even seems you can not hand them over to S&R if they are 'freed' from NPCs. Perhaps it is possible in other types of system like Anachy. I am stuck with over 150 of them... I have yet to jettison them into a white dwarf....
