Galnet Update 08 FEB 3307 - Fleet Admiral Vincent Pronounced.....

Isolde Rochester: "Since December 3304, she has also served as the Shadow Vice President of the Liberal Party, and she is known as a loyal supporter of Shadow President Felicia Winters"

Winters: Isolde who?

I don't think that Jupiter is one of the Club heads - that's Isolde Rochester as Personnel - but yeah he's obviously aware of what his mum gets up to, and does his part as Core Dynamic's CEO.

Hudson hasn't been exonerated, that's just speculation/misdirection on GalNet's part. There's no reason why he can't have been involved in this as well as Vincent/Rochester. In any case, we know from Premonition that he's cooperating with the Club on some stuff, so it seems a moot point as to if he was here as well.

And yeah, the Club are massively into the old military-industrial, the engineered conflict between the Feds and Imps to create capital ships was pretty much their main plan for the Thargoid invasion since:
a) they're arrogant and think they can just manipulate humanity in the "right" direction
b) it increased their own wealth and influence at the same time
c) it didn't involve revealing themselves to share their advance intel - which would have given us the best odds, but at the cost of their secrecy.

Called it. Well, almost at least. I didn't expect Hudson to go scot free. Going to be interesting to see what the Feds will try to get Jupiter back. Maybe sanctions or a blockade via surrounding systems? Given the Lakon connection I wouldn't be surprised if Jupiter Division defected to the Alliance to try and get some protection from them.
 Combat CG Fed vs Alliance incoming?

“Jupiter Rochester himself has evaded arrest by fleeing to the HIP 54530 system, where loyalists within Core Dynamics are establishing a breakaway faction named Jupiter Division. Industry analysts believe that this corporate split has long been planned, but is being accelerated because of the trial.”

... and just like that, the story is parked.

Jumping to conclusions? Maybe, but there's heaps of parked story arcs which all end in a permit locked system.

I'll park my cynicism when this system is unlocked to progress the story.

Considering that this story arc (Starship One) was already paused at least once, that would mean this will be going for a season 3.

Was the system already permit locked b4 ? Or did fdev flip a switch and make it so...

Nope. Been permit locked forever. Only thing FD changed was renamed one of the generic local factions to Jupiter Division.

Things like the megaship Overwatch in HIP 22460, the Thargoid things triangulating off Col 70 Sector fy-n c21-3 and more, just terminate at these permit locked systems which have always been this way (except maybe the Col 70 one, but that's a whole region which became permit locked on introduction of Wings).
