A few years ago the federal president's ship was destroyed with her on. She was eventually found alive. They just had trial. The head of the federal ship building company and a federal navy senior officer did it it seems. The core dynamics leader, Jupiter Rochester, fledto the HIP 54530 System where they've gone rogue from core dynamics. That was yesterday or day before he fled there, and today the pilot's federation seem to have revoked the permit that stopped us getting there, kinda, by giving it to everyone. Now it's not a private safe haven for him to hide inSo the HIP 54530 permit is unlocked now. What to do in that system? Why they unocked it? If I go there, what do I do?
Permit lock prevents carrier plague.That's... weird.
All three of my accounts have just got it (including the one in Colonia). And none of them did anything to deserve it, as far as I know.
Several people have managed to get allied with Jupiter Division (presumed to be the permit-issuing faction), which is normally how you'd qualify, and were wondering how to actually get the permit.
What happens to new players starting after today? Will they have missed out? Odd that Frontier didn't simply remove the permit-lock on the system instead.
Perhaps there will be another relevant Galnet article shortly.

Weird thing: I am at Victory's Forge, the megaship controlled by Jupiter Division, and it says it is going to jump to HIP 55014 on the 18th.
Ooooh! It's like lockdown!Permit lock prevents carrier plague.
That would only work if they were outside the system tooNew players haven't missed out, EVERYONE has it.
The real question is, WHY? ... and how long are we getting the permit for? Is there going to be a Galnet article about it, and/or a community goal?
My suggestion to you, is to use the time you have with this permit, to get allied with Jupiter Division now, so IF the permit is revoked, you MIGHT stand a chance at getting it back.
"We can't get the permit if it's locked again" I know, which is why I say get allied with Jupiter Division now, while you can and if enough of us do it, we might be able to get Jupiter Division to expand to another system. That would only work if they were outside the system too
To get a system permit you must be at a station with the respective minor faction, and 20 light years from the permit locked system, and it'll be in the mission board once you're allied. With Jupiter division only being in 1 system, we can't get the permit if it's locked again. Same reason why another 10 or so systems can't be accessed as the permit holders are all only in the locked system
No rest for the weary..." The Pilots Federation has agreed to supply all ships participating in this conflict with temporary permits to access HIP 54530. These will expire early on Thursday the 18th of February. " ... " The top 75% of contributors will be allocated a permanent system permit for HIP 54530 by Friday the 19th of February 3307. "
It seems the same thing is going to happen here. The news page says " The Pilots Federation has agreed to supply all ships participating in this conflict with temporary permits to access HIP 54530. These will expire early on Thursday the 18th of February 3307. "Everyone in the game has been issued the permit.
This is not the first time a permit has been issued to everyone regardless of whether or not you unlocked it. There was a community goal a fewyearsmonths back (I was sure it was years ago), regarding the death of the Emperor and the community goal was to bring commodities for his funeral. To do so, they (Frontier/Imperials/whoever) issued the (I think) Achenar permit. This was temporary and was revoked not long after the community goal ended.

I don't know if the system will be accessible again at some future point.
