Jupter DIvision mission give notority

On a side note, if anyone didn't think this game was a monty haul zero-difficulty gravy train by now, I present to you Dionizio...who found it easier for his character to become an honorary Vice Admiral in the Federal Navy than to learn what a combat bond was, how conflict zones worked, or tell regulated from lawless space.

You are basically a mercenary. A paid soldier. You are paid to fight in a warzone.

The problem is that you encountered someone just cruising about outside the warzone, thought "Aha, enemy!" and shot him.

Last night, I was headed for the CZ to fight against Jupiter when I got interdicted by a Jupiter ship doing a "security check" (as they are currently the system's controlling faction). I kept my finger off the trigger, let him scan me, and proceeded to the CZ. Where I then shot up numerous Jupiter ships, as I was being paid to do.

Admittedly this is not obvious, and a less experienced player would have interpreted the interdiction as the start of an attack.

thank you to all the experts in this game who prefer to explain the unexplainable and pass a bug over to admit that the community mission is buggy and poorly explained.

There's a lot of players at this community goal. If this was a widespread thing, it would be all over this forum. No-one here or on any of the discord channels I'm on has mentioned anything about infinite notoriety or broken missions.

The game has issues, myself and others haven't seen enough to say this is one of them. If you picked up a massacre mission during a war, the mission tells you to go to a conflict zone. If you do that and any ship is anything other than 'lawless', that is a bug. I have never seen this though.

Did killing these ships outside of the CZ count as progress towards said mission/did you recieve rewards for killing them?

If so, I can understand your frustration and admit that you have a point, especially since Jupiters faction controls the system. If that is the case, definitely contact support on this one.

the whole story at galnet explains that the jupIter division is taking over the system and expelling the federal forces, the mission invites players to help the jupIter division, so I have no doubts in saying that getting notoriety for destroying federal ships receiving rewards (which I received outside the conflict zone) is a bug.

Sigh
You do realise the Jupiter is a rogue Fedneck using Fedneck forces to fight on his side. When you entered the CZ did you take note of the Red (enemy) and Green (Ally) squares on you radar. BOTH are Fedneck forces. You probably just took out all the Fedneck forces in the area (Ally and Enemy) and got notoriety for taking out your Allies.
It's probably just a case of mistaken identity on your part.

Screenshots always help, thank you this makes it much clearer.

If this is the ship you did the killing in, then yes it is indeed a bug and you should contact support. You can't have notoriety if you don't have a bounty on the ship you did the crime in.

100% contact support on this one. They'll likely reset your notoriety to zero since this looks like a bug.

Be kinder - this is a guy starting out in a very complex game and venting frustration. Those of us who have grown up with ED - starting small and accommodated the additions over time - sometimes forget that newer player get everything at once.

I understand where you're coming from, but in this particular case, I politely disagree.

I tried to be kind, people are trying to be kind, he's snapping out at everyone trying to help. Really bad attitude.

Also, he's hardly "starting out". I know ranks usually mean nothing, but he's Combat MASTER, 55% at that. He should know this stuff already.

I found out the difference between bounty vouchers and combat bonds within five minutes after saying "Ok, I'm gonna go try combat now" by simply GOOGLING.

Google, Reddit, Wiki, Frontier Forums, YouTube, Discord, it is all RIGHT THERE. There's simply no excuse.

Sorry, but I have no patience for lazy people.

that's flavor text. every combat cg = go to conflict zone, pick side, kill other side, cash in bonds, fin.

it's how it is. i doesn't make much sense, and you didn't know, it maybe was not your fault but that's how the game is and it's still your "mistake". gotta know the rules before you play! in any case, you could just shrug it off, have a laugh and move on. but if it really makes you so mad then take it to support.

and combat zones have been bugged to hell and back but in this case i'm afraid this is working as intended, not a bug.

He's right though, seems like a bug. He recieved rewards/mission progress for the kills, he's got no bounty against him but has been given notoriety. I think it's best if he contacts support, however, they'll be able to clear it up.
