I still have to ask, why should the majority of legitimate HUMAN players have to suffer for the actions of (presumably) a few bot accounts?
Because when a few individual Cmdrs do something, ALL MUST SUFFER

This won't change anything...Well, here you go.
Frontier's Stance on Bots and Cheating
Greetings Commanders, Some of you have expressed concerns over suspicions of bot usage in Elite Dangerous. Frontier is committed to offering the best gaming experience to all of our players and we actively monitor and act on any developments that might unbalance the Elite Dangerous Universe, or...forums.frontier.co.uk
If suspected bots have been reported and you don't see any changes, then you are probably wrong in your suspicions.

The paranoia won't stop because Frontier refuse to see what players allegedly see![]()
Only if a reported alleged botter disappears from the game, then the judgement is apparent. The difficulty will always be you'll never know what the judgement was.

True - which is essentially the 'meat' of my remark: Regardless of any action by Frontier to the 'phantom bot' operators, those who are convinced the scale is massive could never be placated because, as you point out, accounts are very cheap to buy on PC and no disclosure is made by Frontier as to the scale of their own anti-cheat operations.Depends really. An account is not irreplaceable, and the BGS is opaque enough to mask any changes to the point you feel nothing has changed. In the mean time, the angst and mud throwing would continue and nothing really gets resolved.

Untrue, they can remove what makes the activity viable in the first place. Which happens to be the same way they can resolve a bunch of issues. It just requires creativity and effort on their part and not something they can shove a min wage temp worker on handling (like moderating player reports)
Seconded. It's for those 'affected' by this to take it up with FD. It's not up to the rest of us to 'police' this, it's up to FD.I still have to ask, why should the majority of legitimate HUMAN players have to suffer for the actions of (presumably) a few bot accounts?

and if VR would get a free skip for these sort things, I can immediately think about the rise of bots to use things to trick the game to think it is VR, most likely by having a emulated VR headset, much cheaper...
Bragging again... (if you have a Rift S it is very possible!)Rest assured, I can type thru the nosehole
