Hi Fact,You can .... I do it all the time
I have found that by letting the system orbit the fueling star, It tends to keep me at the perfect distance for heat/scoop ratio. Plus I am lazy lol, so I use to the assist stuff for a lot of things. Why are you using SC assist to FS? I mean I guess you could, as long as you don't point your ship in the direction to engage it, but that would be a bit .... weird....
Hey BTH,I thought you could as fuel scooping is passive. Have you tried?
Hey BTH,
How do you go about changing the FS to passive? Thanks
Hey River,Being able to use the FSS Scanner screen while the ship is moving was a popular request when it was first introduced, perhaps it will be added as a QoL feature with a future update. There doesn't seem to be a technical limitation preventing it, you can do it while the ship is still slowing down if you have only zeroed the throttle immediately before entering it.
You will need to come out of SCA, you can't alter the orbit speed.Hey River,
While using SCA, if I try to go to FSS mode, I get a message saying "Throttle down to use FSS mode". Am I missing a back screen setting somewhere, where I need to slow SCA down? SCA is automatically going to 22.6Mm/s and even jumps to that speed when I start from 0. Thanks
Let SCA take you into orbit, then lower the speed to zero cancelling SCA but keeping you in SC, and use FSS?
I think, while possible, it still would be a pita because the planets move relatively to you in FSS and the targeting/zooming might get whacky. The ship doesn't have to be moving at more than minimum speed to scoop, it just needs to be in supercruise and close enough to the star (being careful not to overheat the ship of course)![]()
Sure, and that may be why it is the way it is, but there is no technical limitationI think, while possible, it still would be a pita because the planets move relatively to you in FSS and the targeting/zooming might get whacky.
Hi,
New to the forums. As the subject line suggests, I think it would be awesome if you can FSS mode while fuel scooping. As I like to explore, this would be a huge time saver.
Edit: to clarify while using supercruise assist.
Depends which side of the sun the planets / you are on. If you're lucky / position yourself according to the orbital plane you can still get them all. I did this a lot when I did a long-haul passenger run a few months ago, wasn't often I had to reposition to get the last few.My main issue with this would be that when you're close enough to a star to scoop from it, it blocks a big chunk of your vision when in the FSS.
