To answer your question, No I don't find it strange, considering the demographic of this section of the forum.
Never mind... the next 'rally call' can be posted where the demographic is likely to be sympathetic to whatever cause you are promoting, rather than posting in a place where you are well aware that the target audience you need to address are absent.

Discussing and considering other's differing opinions is one of the key features of a forum. If you only want to talk to people who agree with you, things will get very boring. It's absolutely fine to disagree, and outline your opposing view points respectfully.

I agree :)

I've been in a few extremely respectable debates here, and more than a few where veiled insults (or even open ones) have been part of the 'engagement'!
This has been one of the former, and all the better for it!

In this thread, people often refer to the player base. So, does anyone actually know (except from FDev) the number of active / average / peak player for each platform the game is released on? The number of sold copies (copies people actually had to pay for; the copies given away for free in the Epic do not count) would also be interesting.

No.
Those figures are known only by Frontier.

The sense of entitlement in some parts of this thread, on both sides, is quite repugnant.

I doubt that Frontier are going to hold off on any release for anything other than technical reasons and given the last few big updates, I'm not convinced that even that will stop them.

I'm a console donkey, even though I don't particularly like what I see about Odyssey (Oh look, Battlefront with some exploration thrown in) I would obviously like to try it as I adore the game as a whole. If it does get released on console, great, if it does take longer, oh well. Yes I will be a bit miffed to see other players able to go out bag tags on various things but I'll get over it.

I'd also like to remind everyone that this 'Community' can barely agree on a single thing. We rip each other to shreds over the simplest of things. Go look at the suggestions threads. There are some savage responses in there (guilty) for the most harmless of requests.

"The Community" only exists as a lever to push some agenda or another - as you mention, if one member of the community told me the time I'd be obliged to get both second and third opinions as it may have been a player of a differing style to my own forwarding their own agenda...

There is nothing that has any kind of majority support from "The Community" - just a bunch of individuals proposing their own opinion as being 'universal'... Why, we even have members telling others that their opinion is wrong and suggesting they may not be in posession of al of their 'marbles' for not holding said player's opinion 🤷‍♂️

For PC, we can look at the Steam charts. January 2021: avg 8736.2, max 14466
Does anyone dare to estimate how many of the PC players are active in this forums? Some voices in this forum are so loud, as if there were speaking for hundreds, even for thousands of players out there.

The anti-botters league of assassins or whatever they're calling themselves this week claim to speak for twenty thousand Commandos.
