Walking around in cockpit for explorers is needed!

I think it’s just what you’re used to. For many on the PC, they were used to that paint job costing this exact pounds or pence.

Us console donkeys never had that ‘luxury’, before ARX we had Frontier Points, so we we’re quite used to working out the sums, the bottom line being, ‘Do I want to spend £5 on in game money.

ARX doesn’t feel that exploitative to me but I can see how a PC player might feel it is.
What Arx do is tempt impulse buyers into spending their money on bundles of Arx by 1. dripfeeding people with Arx until they decide they want more, 2. obscuring the real value of cosmetics, and 3. preventing people from spending the real value of the cosmetics. You'll be left over with extra Arx as you can't buy a specific amount, you can't buy the value of a specific cosmetic in Arx.

Sidenote, all this and the grindyness of Elite only help me draw comparisons between this and a typical mobile game.

Impulse buyers eh?

When this sort of argument comes up, ARX are exploitative, the people making that argument are always worried about someone else, never themselves.

I think a low priority is worrying about impulse buyers uncontrollably buying too many ARX, that they have internet access and a credit/debit card should be far more concerning to them.

I’ve proper derailed this thread with the story of Casino Man, for that, I apologise.

Leaving your ship is a pretty basic feature on all space games. You don't need or want that 'luxury', but everyone else does.

Funny, I've been playing space games for 36 years and haven't played one yet. Certainly not a cockpit-based one like Elite. Note, I'm not saying they don't exist, obviously they do, but saying that it's a 'basic feature of all space games' is utterly ridiculous.

Does it really?
Do you have conclusive proof, or just a 'feeling in your water'?

Everyone else?
Have you polled everyone else to be able to make such a definitive statement?

Stating an opinion is irrefutable - inclusive statements without a shred of evidence being offered is not opinion.

I haven't done a lot of exploration, some, and when I was out deep in space, I got space madness. I found myself staring at the galmap, and just going from star to star almost aimlessly. I think to break the monotony, cockpit legs is very important. It will give a nice and alternate view. Yeah, I may be in deep space, but it would be nice to go and sit at the captains mess while parked at some random star that I'm calling home for the night, maybe have a wing mate on board and just hang out. I would love to be able to decorate the inside of my ship and look out a side window.

Odyssey is going to completely change this game for the better! I can't wait, and I would also love to hear that someday we can walk around in our ships too.

It would have felt more freedom during a voyage of discovery, especially to be able to appreciate the view from your angle from the cockpit or another room such as the one Annacanda has under her nose with panoramic views.

Your comparison is flawed Elite for all its faults isn't even remotely close to a typical mobile game.

How many times have you logged into elite and been spammed with unskippable adverts for other games and the only way to remove them is by buying the free game and you'll still end up being bombarded with adverts for their 20 other similar games. How many pop-ups do you get the moment you land at a station offering free spins, 5 quid game passes to unlock crap quicker and and weekly events to dress your character/village/house/whatever for a week until the next theme starts.

Well at the moment shooting commandos in the face or spamming outposts with missiles holds some appeal when Odyssey comes.

I suspect it won't hold much interest after a week or two and things are nerfed into oblivion because some on the forum are upset.
That explains everything ;)

That explains you don't like legs or interiors.

When I said shooting commandos in the face I meant the legs version of it not the tedious ship to ship combat meta chasing we have at the moment.

As for interiors while they hold no interest to me I don't begrudge anyone else who wants them I just don't see them as the panacea that others do.

Aaah you're talking about the outside of the cockpit now I understand.

Can you imagine sitting in the room under Annaconda's nose in front of a desk with panoramic views with interiors like paintings, bookshelves filled with stuff you've found along the way ?

I have to say it doesn't interest me because playing doll houses in a space game isn't really my thing. As others have said, I'm not militantly opposed to it or anything for people who want it but it's in no way the focus of the game for me and will never become a significant factor in it. I bought it to fly spaceships, not chill out in a gentleman's club, even if it happens to be in an Anaconda.

Base building (actual planning and building construction) I could probably get interested in, but I still also wouldn't see that as being in any way fundamental to the game.

It sounds like you've been in the bubble for a while, but with my point of view is that the galaxy is very large if you compare with the bubble or Colonia, then you can not do much than chill around and discover things.
