What did I do wrong at Aitkins Hub?? (arrested!)

500+ hours in and I still sometimes forget to ask for docking permission... by now I’d like to think they should roll out a red carpet for me automatically! Last time that happened I was in my shiny new Anaconda, I started getting palpitations when I panicked and got jammed trying to reverse out the mail-slot!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You just cracked me up... i definitely can relate to this.... no kidding.... even the palpitation stuff 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I bought an Anaconda with everything I owned, tried to fly out of the station and got caught up in the slot.

Scared the heck out of me. Sold it and bought back a Python. Didn't bother with big ships for quite a while until I had a larger nest egg.

Most of it was how cumbersome that ship was, it didn't have the top thrusters so it was even more of a brick.

Not really a rookie mistake since I have 7000 hrs in the game. I was doing massacre missions for the main faction from a station. I did it all night to become allied with them. The next evening, I took more missions and spent all night at the CZ completing them. Punch drunk, I went back to the station, dropped out and boosted towards it, while I brought up the panel to request docking permission. the first click didn't work, which sometimes happened, so I tried twice more and still didn't get a pad. figuring out something was wrong, I put away the panel, only to see lasers coming at me. Two seconds later, I was looking at the rebuy screen. Overnight, the station had flipped and the faction I was fighting were now in charge of the station, which made me hostile and not allowed to approach the station. In 6 years of doing CZs, I've never before seen a station flip like that on day 2 of a war.

The same thing happened at the recent community goal where you had to hand in the bonds to the station. FD did a dirty there. i bet I wasn't the only one caught when I went to the station to change ships.

Uuuugh!! I coulda saved a whole hour of my life in frustrating figuring out landing!!
...but then... I FIGURED OUT LANDING! :D I was SOOO proud of myself for landing my ship on a planet successfully!! :D man I wish I got bonus points for that LOL
In some cases the docking computer is almost essential for landing at a planet side base instead of the luxury it is elsewhere.
If the gravity of the planet is high the docking computer is more likely to land an underpowered ship successfully than doing it manually.
