Thanks for the answers everyone!

As someone mentioned: I do know this isn't a plane it's just when i was lookin up what roll, yaw and pitch are you typically get something related to a plane. But thanks everyone. I'll figure this all out, probably by the end of the year LOL

I'm not trolling; but legitimately asking. If you're just now starting out how are you a forum moderator?
Yes I'm a forum moderator and as someone mentioned they make more than 1 game.

It takes some time but once you get the hang of the controls it's really not that difficult of a game. It's just the learning curve out of the gate is steep.

Sounds like Blasphemy to me but ok. Lol. Which game did you play before?

All I get is the box opening up and seeming to freeze with no text? Please help a moron or is there a forum update patch notes somewhere?

My bad. The new editing system is horrible...

--edit: In fact, the new editing system is bugged on Firefox (linux). I get the same frozen edit box as @Vetinari. I made this edit on Edge (Windows 10) and it worked.
Minor sidetrack, but see here if you can't edit.

.......

The confusion you have come up against is due to the fact that aircraft utilise aerodynamic forces, whereas Elite's spacecraft do not. In an aircraft the action of rolling makes the resultant aerodynamic forces cause the aircraft to turn in the direction that it is now tilted towards (called banking) - in a spaceship though rolling just means rotating. So to turn a spaceship without using yaw you have to roll towards the direction you want to turn towards and then pitch up. Sounds complicated but on a mouse using roll and pitch on the x and y axis is really simple, on a joystick* the same actions are even easier to control.

* So you don't need to have twist on a joystick but lots of people prefer it to be available so they can yaw (swivel laterally).

Wot NASA says ;) :

Thanks! I initially didn't know that Roll & PitchUp actually "turned" me.
.....Just realized those Roll and Pitch will have to be on different sticks (using Xbox controller). You can't go put a stick "up" and "left" at the same time...
?

Using the right (for example) analog stick, you can move it (from its middle neutral position) in any direction. Pull it towards you or push it away from you, and your ship pitches up or down, move it to the left or right and your ship rolls left or right. Combine the two movements to your heart's content.

Blasphemy? I've been a forum moderator with Frontier for 2 years and 3 months for JWE/PZ/PC which I know inside n out
I"ve never played Elite before and I though it would be fun. I'm perfectly allowed to come on and ask questions. I don't know why that's such a problem. I'll keep it at that since the topic isn't about myself.
