I have an issue and it's with passenger missions

For a while now passenger missions have been one of my go-to money making methods, it was a chill, simple grind that I could do in the background whilst watching something. Recently however completing these missions seems impossible and I think i'm missing something.

Now with passenger missions comes illegal passengers, a fair added level of risk, however here lies the problem. recently I have found that I cannot leave the station without being blown from the sky, why you ask? because I get scanned whilst leaving. Now I am aware there are methods to avoid this, but here are my experiences with the methods I am aware of.

1 - Silent running: My first instinct was to activate silent running when scanned as I leave, to my knowledge this should prevent scans but I have seen elsewhere that this for some reason doesn't apply to npc's. I guess this is also the case with stations as this, alas, did not stop the scan and boom I get killed. (and sent 300ly away as thats the nearest police depot to ceos apparently, but thats a separate issue I wont get into)

2 - Deploying hardpoints: I have repeatedly seen that this is a technique to break scans so attempted to use this method to break any scans that came my way, however again, in practice this proved to not work, not sure if it has been patched or something, but again, blown up as I leave, sent 300ly's away.

3 - Travelling over 200mps: Now this method seemed more effective in spite of the difficulty involved in boosting my way in and out of the mail slot, that wasn't the issue, I am thankfully able to do this effectively without issue but tbh, I dont see that being the case for all CMDR's, especially newer players and those that rely on the auto-dock features. The issue was that, more often than not the scan would still go through and in spite of me managing to get away quick enough due to my higher travel speed, I would be killed apon my return to the station as I was wanted.

The reason I am making this post is because that was not always the case, and i would like to find the solution. Last time I took on passenger missions I wasnt even scanned as often as I am now, so avoiding scans wasnt even an issue, my question is, does anyone have other methods of avoiding scans that may work, and would it be possible for a real, working, scan avoiding method to be implemented. As silent running (what I assume is the intended feature to avoid this) obviously doesnt work. Not only that however but, did something change? why am I being scanned so often that i'm finding I can't even leave the station. It essentially boils down to, I get that illegal passengers are a nice, necessary level of risk, but there seems to be no way of avoiding scans, which makes the missions impossible to complete as they currently stand.

In the past I found it no issue to avoid being scanned when you boost as soon as you leave the mail slot and when you approach a station in supercruise towards the mail slot and then boost towards it only slowing down to blue when you're basically passing already. They may start scanning but never finish. Only thing that may hit you off-guard are random patrols spawning in at sightseeing sites, but that is rather rare.

I think I find that switching to silent running and back quickly breaks a scan on arrival.

Illegal passengers aren't worth it though; they don't pay enough extra for the trouble they put you to. I avoid them.

I’m almost certain that dropping heatsinks and/or running silent broke target lock and interrupted any scan whenever I’ve tried to slip into or out of a station unnoticed, and I’ve never yet been caught doing something naughty... but I’m almost certain that sometimes my memory is very fallible!

As others have said building and engineering your ships to run cooler can help, and I believe that each hull has a certain ‘profile’ that acts as a baseline for how ‘suspicious’ the local filth think you look; I haven’t got a quote to reference to hand, but if I recall correctly (there’s that memory again...) the Kraits for example are what you’d call a ‘low profile’ hull.

I used to come in quite fast toward the station, with some amount of distance to go, I would boost through the slot, easy in a small/medium ship, never tried it in a Beluga, anyway, as you're passing through the slot, pull your throttle all the way back. You've avoided the scan and Auto-dock slams on the brakes for you and does the rest. I practiced this without an passengers a couple of times, you soon get the knack.

Back in the old days of Rhea runs and Smeaton runs, i smuggled billions worth of criminal scum with an anaconda and python. A few attempted scans as i docked but never once got scanned on departure. OP, did you recently switch to a more 'conspicuous' ship? Of course that was a few years ago. NPC scanning behavior could have changed since i last tried

I guess the OP isn't very popular with the station's controlling faction?

You shouldn't get scanned INSIDE the station (unless you're only just inside the mailslot and a cop passes by outside), but a combination of boost and a heatsink should shake off a scan as you leave.

The last time i got scanned was 1766, what the hell are you flying, a T9 at 20m/s?

shoehorn it in/out of the slot at 600m/s they wont scan you then.

silent running just makes them get closer to scan you, and the longer you hang about the more chance you have of being scanned. speed my friend... you need speed!

I can't say I've ever EVER been scanned before I could even leave a station with passengers. Did I read that right???

Since I’ve started flying around a chonky ‘conda instead of my nippy little Adder the much slower and steadier departure speed (still scraping the slot coming in and out...) has resulted in one or two scans just after leaving the station, but I wasn’t doing anything naughty at the time so I just ignored them.

Speed and a cool running ship also help. Pop a heatsink when getting scanned, or pop several heatsinks on the way to docking and keep the ship cool. I have very good success transporting wanted passengers this way.
heatsinks, thats a good idea, i'll give that a go, cold running is an option i didnt think of, thank you

I think I read or was told somewhere that boosting at high speed interrupts/delays NPC scans. Is that true? As I'm one who's thumb seems glued to my "B" button, maybe that's why I haven't experienced this? lol

like i said in my post, this never used to happen, its only recently that it has proved an issue, and like i said, i've tried the fast approach, it seems like something is fked with the scans on these missions as it never used to be an issue, i'm literally boosting from the pad and out of the mail slot, so fast even the station doesnt have time to kill me before im clear, so i must be going fast enough, i honestly dont get it, maybe my game is just fked haha
