Hardcore fan? Seems you are looking for problems where they dont exist
What sort of life would you expect in a small munitions dump?
They weren't on hostile terms with the faction, they landed on the landing pad why would the drones do anything but observe?
The quality of what was in this vid inside, Znort is the classical 'former-fanboy-turned-bitter-hater' that for some reason is a bit of thing with sci-fi games. With most types of games people either like it or dont, and those who dont move on to things they do like. Games like ED, SC, NMS and X-series each have their share of 'negative groupies' who hang around for literal years craptalking the developments.
Its quite interesting, but in any case not really worth getting annoyed about. If you like sci-fi spaceship games you'll just have to accept these individuals are part of the package.
As for the vid itself: the animations did look rather clunky, and the AI looked not particularly challenging. Part of the issue seemed to be they were roleplaying 'infiltatring' a seemingly friendly settlement they could just as well have walked into. Its like me 'infiltrating' the local supermarket and complaining the clerks are 'poor AI' because they ignore me. Keep in mind that the spaceship part of ED usually looks fairly iffy as well when devs play it as, no offense to them, they seem to be on the level of some 70-year old granny who never played a computer game before.
As always: we'll see how it is when we get out hands on it. And I can already give you five names of people who will say it is the worst thing ever, and five people who will tell you it is the best thing ever.

What I want to know is to what extend there even is a 'cover' system in place, and if the AI uses it...
