Because I have to ask myself why, this late in the process, are FDev demonstrating an older version? Why on earth would they do that if the newer version is better?
It could be any number of reasons.
For example. The most recent build might (or might not) have better physics, visuals, AI, etc. but the network code hasn't been updated to support it yet, so it can't be played multiplayer. Or the new AI is done, but is running on a test build and hasn't been integrated into the main version yet. Or absolutely anything.
I wouldn't read too deep into anything, positive or negative, at this point. With us knowing next-to-nothing about FDev's workflow or internal processes, inferring the quality of the final product based on guesswork about what
would be normal
if X sweeping assumption about the development is correct, is borderline Dunning-Kruger.
