Triple Elite Hall of Fame

I kinda wish there was more than just the decal but it is still nice to finally get 'er done.
No idea why people grind for this absolutely nothing "acheivement", especially with the way it's been abused over the years.
Why turn a game into a job just to "acheive" something that's been debased so much that it means nothing and would have happened anyway just from playing the game?

It's something to do :)

How it is achieved is up to the player & can be meaningful to them alone, or to others too if the achievement is qualified by criteria. An extreme example might be Triple Elite in a Sidewinder but each story is interesting :)

The same reason people play for Steam or Xbox achievements or Playstation trophies, or climb mountains, swim across oceans, etc. Because they are there and you can.
Yeah that's fair enough, although I really wouldn't put swimming oceans or climbing mountains in the same bracket as game achievements. But each to their own.

Yeah.
Combat elite in a sidey? Absolutely. In a Corvette? Pull the other one.

You don't know what it took to achieve something unless they tell you, and even then you can ignore it if you are nonplussed. There are plenty of Triple Elite Cmdrs that don't consider theirs an achievement worth sharing, this is a thread for those that do :)

The real achievement for me was getting combat elite. When I first started playing, I decided I wanted to be an explorer and I had no interest in combat at all then.

During the Borann heyday, I achieved my trade elite and made the usual post on Reddit showing off that I now had two elites. A player there made a comment that it was sad that someone could be exploration and trade elite and be "helpless" in combat.

I decided then to tackle combat and it ended up being my favorite game mode.

I have a handful of combat ships. The 'vette is the one I chose to display. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.

Now you're gonna tell me that I'm not really combat elite because I fly a 'vette, right :D

Best ship in the game, it can do it all ;)

Bragging rights and respect. Some noob comes into your squadron and you offer helpful advice and instead of being grateful he shows his butt and starts smarting off like knows something just because he finally graduated to an aspX. So you interdict him, strip off 2 rings of his shields in 2 seconds, just in case that didn't get his attention and flash your triple elite decal and say "this is why you should listen to me" then jump back into supercruise.

There's no way I would have got combat elite "just by playing the game". If you don't commit to achieving it, you'll never get it. It's something I wanted to do ever since I got the game 3 years ago so to me it's an accomplishment. The other two are very easy to achieve but combat elite took work so I respect that more when I see other CMDRs that have it out in space.
