Has elites original story line been forgotten by fdev?

After days and weeks of researching elite lore and history, reading books and hearing about all sorts from raxxla to forgotton ship Graveyard not being added to elite in tionisla, visiting soontill and no military research base despite a nav becon saying it was there, after the lack of expansion of thargoid origins and the guardian origins, the nerfing of guardian fighters and so on, what has become of elite? More frustring is how we are heading into odessy and forgetting the original plots to elite, for all the players who started back in the 80s, after all of us who travelled to the formidine rift and found a mega ship, what is there to enjoy? No leads on raxxla, nothing! Elite is full of dead Story lines... no more guardian leads, thargoids make an attach in witch head every now and then and is repetitive, no dark wheel expansion.. what are you really doing fdev? The most amazing game i have ever played and the best parts are dying..

Ever since CMDRs have expanded the Dark Wheel's influence to Sol, there have been rumors of "turning the wheel". With Fdev's newer Community Management and interest in community feedback, maybe we'll get... something? Idk. I wouldn't expect much til Odyssey releases not only on pc, but on console towards the end of 2021.

I'm hoping we get a big update to PP, BGS and plotlines in the next expansion. Everyone is.

Seems, to me, that FDev originally released ED as a functional space-sim with the possibility of adding more lore-related stuff later on.

Trouble is, there's always another "theme park" game to develop, and when ED does get the dev's full attention it's usually to create specific features rather than to improve the game environment.

The current (relaunched) storyline has picked up bits from the first year of Elite Dangerous (why did Starship One explode? - itself a callback to an FFE storyline), the founding of the Empire (Marlinism), the role of the Club (Rochester / Sirius), the first encounters with the Thargoids (Adamastor/Coalsack), the foundational principles of the Alliance (Kaine vs Mahon), and more. They're definitely keeping the connections going - though, with there being so much, obviously, not everyone's favourite bits can get a reference: what happened to Olav Redcourt, that's what I want to know...

(Certain aspects of the storylines from previous games are not necessarily canonical in Elite Dangerous - the Alliance never peacefully dealt with the Thargoids, the Empire was never quite as evil as it was presented as in FE2/FFE, etc. so things like the Dark Wheel or Tionisla Graveyard might well not be as previously talked about either)

As far as Raxxla goes, we were told "no hints" on that from the start.

Talking about Alliance and Thargoids, it is Alliance to ignite the fire - John Jameson was used to genocide Thargoids.
By the way, does any Commanders know where to go for the original Elite, after finished the mission in Galaxy 3, I did not receive any call from Navy further. When I receive their call they will display "Right on Commander" in the middle bottom of the space view.

Can you tell me a bit more about how Halsey's assassination ties into Frontier First Encounters?
The "Starship Antares" which suffered a very similar misjump disaster to Starship One was destroyed in the 3250-3253 period of the FFE storyline (I forget exactly when, and it may not have been fixed)

Assassinated Federal VP Nigel Smeaton (who was killed about six months before the Starship One sabotage) had a relative working on it and was investigating the Antares incident on the side: this only came out after the Starship One sabotage when some of his staff and their partners also died in mysterious circumstances.

Obviously in retrospect the Antares may also have been sabotaged - but was Smeaton killed to cover up the events behind the Antares itself fifty years on, or was it because the plans to get rid of Halsey were already underway by then, and Smeaton's knowledge of the Antares might have let him spot the danger?

Thank you for all the replies :) only seen them now haha, i get there's no other clues to raxxla, and that's ok,makes the game just that more mysterious:)
just today galnet stated research into guardian tech and their history by the summit , this could get interesting! Plot wise and tech will hopefully deepen, i only just sent a tweet a few days ago asking fdev why they havent expanded on the thargoid saga and nerfed guardian tech, let hope for the best! Finding the darkwheel is step one before raxxla i think, seeing col 70 unlocked or parts with be mega! Fantastic replies all of you :)

All very true, if the darkwheel logo with orphicus is or was real then we know they are around that star system orphicus aka ouroboros.

Yep, look what happened to a certain game with 3 letters in its title.. starting with G.. i had played that since the first game around 99 and then in the last game they went online, ruined the game and forgot about solo mode and the story line.. lets hope the new instalment is better, let us pray fdev deepens elite with this new addition and remembers this a game with many player types.

But jameson was upset he was lied to and killed thousands of them.. he didnt know about the lie..then was killed by who ever sent him on the mission

Yes, he was used to kill the Thargoids and finally was killed by the Alliance. Thargoids are simply avenger, all responsibility is on human beings and Alliance.

Therefore, I will not combat with them. I rather destroy pirates with elite ranking to Thargoid scouts.

I'm pretty sure with the lore they just make it up as they go along, they forget stuff they've already said and gloss over it with a sledge hammer before announcing more hyperbole, and Raxxla....Frontier don't even know what Raxxla is, in reality the myth is more exciting than anything FDev could deliver on Raxxla, i mean imagine they placed it in game today...

A dusty beige landable moon with the same RNG topography as every other beige moon, and a copy n paste abandoned settlement....

Years of mystery for that would be pretty disappointing, the only thing Raxxla has going for it is the secret vending machine on the settlement which sells small seismic Charges.

its the whole expectation vs reality over and over with Elite.. exhibit a)
