So, About This Odyssey Release...

Does anyone know of anything in the new Odyssey release that is going to cost a bunch of credits (like large ships, stations, etc.)?

Reason I ask is because I have a small pile of credits (small to some, not to others) that I will not be using to lease a ship hauler/barge, and was wondering if I should hang onto it for up and coming toys in the new release, or go ahead and maybe buy a few more ships or whatever suits my fancy?

According to my calculations, a new suit will cost around 5,000,000,000cr, so start saving. Might I suggest a mining rush?
And the new Dropship? How much for that according to your calculations?

I don't have kids

Good for you, a bigger waste of money I've never seen, worse than the Anaconda and that is some target to beat.

Money is so easy to make now, wait until we all have legs. You'll be able to knock some CMDR on the back of the head, stick him in the back of a Hauler. Take him away to some small planet. Rifle his pockets, bury him, be on your way and no one will know. Quids in.

To be more helpful, I don’t think anyone knows what is for sale or how much any of that is. Yes, that is as helpful as it gets I’m afraid.

This reminds me of the time they announced FC’s, wild speculation (before the price was announce) led to one CMDR admitting that he’d mined his way to 38bn (ono), an overshoot of roughly 32bn.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if any new big ships were coming, of if we were going to be able to build our own station, or whatever. Guess I'll just have to wait and see I guess. When's alpha?

Thirty eight billion from mining? That's just mind numbing. I already had about 4b, mined another 5, and threw away my miner. Ugh.

Don't forget the 10m weekly upkeep.
Plus add in another 5m for life support
And an extra 15m upkeep for the gun holster.

at OP:
Definitely keep a pile for the Alpha, as your current game will get copied over from the LIVE to the TEST realm. If you have some credits to play around, it will make it easier/better. Besides, once in the Alpha, you can always sell your ships and modules within the Alpha, as will not affect the current live system.

Good points. I'm not sure if I'll buy the alpha, but I may. Just out of boredom. ;)

Question? I've read somewhere that VR will not work in the new release. But does anyone know if my TrackIR will continue to work?

VR will work when piloting ships, track ir likewise I imagine. On foot no VR, and I wouldn't think track ir would do anything useful either.

I got the impression that in Odyssey we'd need to buy an anti-funeral plan, insurance - sort of - against those unforseen accidents, small tear in our suits too far from the ship to get the puncture repair kit, ran over by your own SRV when the recall computer has hiccups, small hole in front of helmet and large in the back... Minor stuff - my guess is the first pre-installment is in the region of 2 billion...

I'm pretty sure fdev said Odyssey will introduce a new form of currency for Odyssey related stuffz. So spend what you have now. It won't buy anything new afaik
I can't see fdev stripping everyone of their credits and making everyone start at zero again. It just doesn't make sense. Not going to jump the gun just yet, but this will definitely given me pause if true, and I'll keep an eye out for additional information. Or maybe I'm not understanding your post correctly?
