So as we all know, 9 stations got hit yesterday. However, for some reason... some ridiculous, unbeknownst reason... FDev decided that Lave Station would be hit without a single place selling Lavian Brandy as a backup. Was this intended to stunt new players from Game Pass or was this just a massive oversight on the planning team? Did they just forget that you can't unlock an engineer without Lavian Brandy? Needless to say I'm less than happy about my buddies not being able to finish their engineering without being carpet-drug to Colonia for an engineer that shouldn't be inaccessible in the first place.

Sorry if you think this is game breaking. There is also a story in the game going on. An attack on humanity. But Didi is obviously more important.

I don't have a problem with the story. I've got a problem with the fact that they're inhibiting players' access to an important part of the game when it could easily have been avoided by hitting literally any other station. And sadly I'm short on valuables and my buddies are on Xbox, which I doubt you are, so since you can't sell special goods from carriers from what I've been told, it would be a moot effort. Thanks for the offer tho, appreciate it.

Its not the first time they have done it. They completely removed one engineer once (may have done worse previously, idk).

Until Lave is back online Felicity at Deciat can do G1 shield boosters to get you started, and Elvira at Khun can do G3 shield generators the same as Didi. If you run a search on INARA you should be able to find a friendly carrier selling Lavian Brandy if you really can’t wait a week or two.

Wait - this is Didi isn't it? So you're basically missing out on G4-5 Shield Boosters - Lei Chung can do G3 and the shields and is a far earlier unlock ...

Would you really want to trust that drunk to fiddle about with your defensive shields? I’ve only just unlocked Didi a few weeks ago out of that fear...
Well the only single task I ever set out to achieve from leaving the starter systems was to have a G5 shield booster modded by a reclusive alcoholic genius so quite frankly I’m outraged!
I am a new player and there are very very few things I feel give unfair advantages in game.
Even then, one of those things is something that may well have been put in game for players who have been part of the community for a long time - And I think that is the point....
This is a great game, it has been long running, and has a great community - a community is more than one person, or even a few (us new players
) - it is everyone, and the game developers have to try and cater for everyone.As a new player I am grateful that I have a unique missile rack, a unique FSD, and new paint jobs, and I am sure I will get the chance to get other great things in future. These types of exclusives aren't always open to the new player in other games. Things will not always be doable out of the box, but part of this game is the journey in getting to that place - I do not have a passenger transport ship, so now I am making one!
