After reading the dozenth thread about "Another Harmless Trader wilfully destroyed by bloodthirsty Meta Fer- De-Lance", and years, yes, years of refusing to add the FdL to my fleet out of sheer disgust over seeing them way too often as part of a ganker outfit I decided enough is enough.


I ended up buying one.

And I absolutely hate myself for saying this, but... I like it. It's good. It sounds good. It's very fun to fly. And free from gimping myself it finally allowed me to tick yet another box on the bucket list...

I'm in a bit of a dilemma now.

1) Rubbernuke's post above made me wonder whether an AX build would be sufficient to blow up noobs (presumably yes, but there'd only be one way to find out, right?)
2) The hardpoint layout of the FdL (4x medium & 1x huge) is rather compatible with a great array of engineered weapons I have in storage. I don't think this ship will only see AX action...

My FDL has all multis... No good as a gank ship, but fun enough for massacre missions (and the odd CZ)

Just to drag you closer to the dark side... The FDL is actually a great deal of fun to just fly... Try one... It is only around 200 mill to get it with Reactives, less if you don't ;)

It's really amazing how good it is in PvE, didn't test in PvP though as it's yet unfinished.

To be fair to it, it's not just a gankboat. It actually flies okay for a medium! I've even raced one on the time trials at Cortes.
Kinda like a fat, slow Viper. Moves well on boost with that profile.

More to the ship than meets the eye :)

I still kinda prefer the Asp S tho :D

If I am ever going to buy this boat, it's for its French name. Best name in the whole shipyard IMHO.
