Alpha Snapshot?

Greetings all!

Quick Question: do we have a confirmed date for when Fdev made a snapshot of the game to use for the Alpha? I know it's usually 2 weeks before (which that would make it tomorrow 3/15), but I havent seen any confirmation.

I dont want to leave the bubble until I know the snapshot has been taken, so I dont have to fly all the way back first thing on Alpha release.

What if they take the snapshot one day before release? Better stay in the bubble until it started just to be sure.

i assume, as with the last betas (i know: this will be an alpha), you'll have the possibility to choose a starting position.

and if not, you can always suicidewinder back.

AFAIK it's usually been around 3 weeks beforehand. As Goemon says though, you can just suicide back to your last dock, or suicidewinder back to your start (presumably LHS 3447 Trevithick Dock) if you aren't bothered about keeping the ship you're in for the beta Alpha You can reset your save too, I did that in one beta just to see what it was like because I've never done it in the live game.

Just make sure you pop your ship in the correct game version, not in the live game

The snapshot will probably be take a week or two in advance. May have already been taken.

I really doesn't matter though because you can reset your commander in the alpha and it won't affect you're account outside the alpha.

I thought it was 4 weeks. but you'll never know, there is no note from FD

but it was said already: the credits from the alpha do not carry over. just blow up wherever you are and pay one rebuy. go crazy. make sure you start the right game.

As the OP states, snapshot is usually 2 weeks before (search for Snapshot on the news section to find prior announcements). ofc as it is now 2 weeks to go and they haven't announced it I guess they're back to not remembering to tell us

Edit: ofc the first phase of the Alpha may not have a snapshot if they want us to test the new-start-on-foot experience

Yep nuke your money and credits and make people do the progression but lower the target values... FC beta need players have money and ships to see if values were set correctly.
Unlocking items with EDO only Tokens won't require credits and it can force on foot Travel as you wont have enough credits to by a ship so you would have to test out the Taxi services...

Then next part of alpha allow small ship purchases to allow raids and exploration of planets...
