Southeast Asia DLC incoming?

Did not understand, you meant you are not satisfied with any of the current scenery? Or is it that you do not want any more scenery, zoo without scenery go away very quickly.
What I meant was that all the scenery I truly enjoy are animal signs/statues and other signs (like the ones you can write on). I mean, I do make my different sections with the corresponding scenery, but I also wouldn't miss not having what we have.

So, having more statues will bring in a lot of character to my zoos. Hopefully, in the future we'll get a statue for each species available in the game

FoxyDee you would need a top of the line professional to do that. There is nothing currently in game to do the African Leopard or any of the tropical leopard subspecies justice. The amur leopard is the closest point of reference with the already existing snow leopard. I have tried already to offer a large incentive to have that African Leopard created, and it just does not work. Now if we are talking about just a bad quality mod, it is certainly possible, just not the level we have become used to with some of the other mods.

Yea I understand, it would not be perfect. But it would certainly be better than for example a sea lion made out of seal or a badger made out of red panda etc.

I would definitely welcome a more animal balanced dlc, and can definitely understand them downsizing on the scenery, just hope we still get a decent amount of foliage, it is as needed as the animals to create zoos.
The issue here is I've really downgraded my expectations.

I am aware that foliage is very important and much is missing and urgently needed. For me it's utmost important, and indeed, the asset that hooked me to the game. Unfortunately, for many, foliage is a tertiary issues down the priority list.

Absolutely ditto @Tobs on the foliage. I hope every DLC that Frontier bring out over the next few year/s buff up the foliage selection for all the biomes because for me, it is such a joy and such an asset for making beautiful, realistic-feeling environments. The more options available for plants, the happier I am. Honestly, if at some point they came out with just... a massive foliage pack, no animals, I would get it in a heartbeat. Not to say I don't also want more animals, because I very much do! But foliage is just as much part of why I enjoy this game as the creatures.

It’s an odd zoo where all the buildings are made of nothing but a statues and signs - you don’t use walls, doors windows etc? I’m guessing you mean the more highly themed stuff?

Well there we have it, Southeast Asia has arrived, just not exactly how many expected it. I loved all the new animals and the fact that Frontier listened to the players. The animals are all amazing, they just keep on getting more detailed and realistic. I'm however really sad that not a single plant was added to the dlc, even Southeast Asian props would have been truly welcomed. I do understand they wanted to keep the price point the same, sadly the one area I can't care less about. Not sure a few more euros would have made such a big difference even kids now days have the money to spend. In the U.S for example most kids just received yesterday 1400 dollars from the Government. My nephews were allowed by their parents to keep 500 each, and both will be spending it mostly on video games.

While I like we're getting more animals, I was surprised it was the same price point, and now I understand why - no new scenery or plants at least as far as we know. I'm sure there's no new building scenery, they would have almost surely included that in the description. Maybe we'll get a few new surprise plants either in the pack or the patch.

As much as I applaud adding 3 more animals, I'd gladly pay a few dollars more to get 8 animals and some new scenery. Of course, that's more work and more time for the developers, and if it comes down to more animals or a mix of animals and scenery, regardless of price, I'll always choose more animals (with the exception of really wanting a European Bavarian theme).

Eh, I'm not so sure. Maybe a few more euros wouldn't make a difference to us, hardcore players of the game who buy every pack (and even then, who doesn't love a good price?), but I think it's important that they have kept the 10€ price tag. It's not only us who play the game, there are casual players who would have found a higher price unacceptable. Besides, with the way the world is right now, I think it's safe to assume lots of people are tight with money, with the COVID-19 situation going on all around the world. All in all, this is an absolutely amazing pack and it's literally everything we've wanted.

It's a commercial strategy: all DLCs are a tenner (8 in UK). easy to promote, easy to sell.

I know I would spend 100's of € to have DLCs as big as the base game. but that's not going to happen.

I respect and encourage them to keep a standardisation price-wise. Keep things simple.
