Ship Builds & Load Outs Ships Corvette C3 hardpoint options?

Good day, Commanders.

Looking for an advice on what weapon would be a good complement for my following weapon loadout:
"Corvette Build".

That build is designed for PvP mostly, but being lazy ass I am, I will also use it for PvE.
Initial idea was to put APA in large slot, engineered with G4 Focused to match Multicannon and APA projectile speeds, but alas, convergence is so garbage that it can't really hit a broadside of a barn.
Now I am a bit puzzled about what to fit there. After recent 3 week grind for APA, my soul wants to fit an APA in there, but maybe there are better options?

Thank you all in advance.

Corrosive frag or multicannon turret, or a seeker.

edit: I had a nearly identical build like yours, with an shot speed linked APA too.
I switched it all to PAs.

I only PvE so make of this what you will ...

Originally had a MC but found it fired / hit so infrequently I almost didn’t bother putting anything else in.

I then had a Hign Capacity / Drag Munitions Seeker Missile rack along with lasers pretty much everywhere else. Was kind of okay - and the overall build was pretty effective for an ammo-less RES-site farmer - but I’d imagine shocking for PvP.

Currently have a Rapid Fire / Phasing Sequence Pulse Laser (combined with 4 others and 2 huge MCs) which maybe would be good for PvP for getting a little hull damage through shields?

Forget speed matching the large with your MCs, the convergence will be pants in any case. Provided you'll keep the medium and huge MCs (which are basically fine, but I'd make the two huges corrosive and autoloader for more punch against hulls) I like either a Drag Pacifier or a fixed SRB HYS cannon down there for nice additional hull and/or module damage from closer range. Simply put the smalls and the large in two different fire groups.

I'm not convinced phasing lasers work on a slow build like the Vette, because
you're outdamaged and can't rely in evasion. I'd rather go with phasing PAs as in my build above. Which will get out dps'ed by TC builds...

Yeh, maybe ... with all 5 non-huge HPs as Rapid Fire / Phasing, PvE targets can be as much as 20% down on Hull by the time their shields drop ... but I’ve actually switched back to Huge + Medium Efficient Beams with Small Corrosive / Emmisive MCs because it just kills quicker (again, PvE here!) but have left the C3 Rapid Fire / Phasing Pulse on as well for the time being. We’ll see how long it lasts!!

For PvE sure, that works. OP said PvP mainly though.

Boss, how does your weapon convergence work with the large fixed? From what I had read, it's not good, but does it work for you?

I don't like large MC turrets in this hardpoint as the spinup time cuts into potential time on target quite severely.

My go to options are usually a rapid fire drag seeker, a fixed OC drag frag, or an efficient scramble burst turret.

I personally settled on a Seeker missile rack (overload) for that Large slot after juggling between it, multi cannons, and frag cannons.
While all can be effective, the missile lock allows for flexible aiming above the ships horizon, which linear fire (gimbal & turret) weapons cannot target.

Been messing about again ...

Currently running a C3 Rapid Fire Pulse / Phasing Sequence in conjunction with beams and MCs in the other HPs. Not sure if I prefer that to the Seeker Missile Rack or not ... missiles were a bit meh but every now and then the Drag Munitions effect would actually do something, which was kinda cool.

Considering a C2 Rail with Cascade just to give me an option for countering chaff + SCBs - which would get used rarely but at least be a sensible “occasional use” option. Feels ugh to be downgrading the HP, though ...

This is why C3 Railguns need to be a thing. Even if it’s the same damage as C2 but twice as much ammo or it’s two C2s on one HP so you can fire more frequently ... just something to justify the C3 space being taken up!

Been using cannons as my secondary fire group to the huge incendiary multicannons. Two medium and the one large. With small frag cannons for corrosion and drag effects. But I'm not feeling it. Running out of ammunition quick and the damage is kinda anaemic, probably due to the slow shot speed allowing enemies to simply dodge the projectiles. Going to unlock shock cannons. While they may not have any better ammo endurance, they may do more damage while they last.

Huh. Never considered experimental weapons for that slot... Are Shock Cannon any good? Heard it overcooks your ship when firing quickly and has very low ammo.
