Newcomer / Intro A way to tell in hindsight if my PD turret fired?

So I bought a PD turret yesterday, and made my way into a "non-human signal" area in MAIA, and was attacked immediately by aliens. Weapons fire all over, but I was in my explorer ship (no weapons aside from the PD), and locked on a system and fled ASAP.
Now I'm wondering if there's any way to find out if my PD fired at all during that encounter? Can I figure out if it saved my bacon while I jumped out?
I thought maybe something in the EDDiscovery app, but I'm filtering for PD and point, and all I can find is where in the history I bought it.
Maybe some way I can tell immediately after the next time I'm fired upon? In my ship info somewhere?
Thanks for any tips!

Check PD ammo before and after.

Mmhmm, I know this. I'm missing your point, sorry. How does this help me determine whether my PD turret fired and helped out in my last encounter?

AH! Gotchya. So they never fire missiles or torpedoes then?
Guess I was thinking of Guardian Sentinels that do.... :/
Now you mention it, Thargoid scouts and Interceptors do fire caustic missiles. I've been in many fights with Thargoids but never in a ship with a PD. So to be honest, I can't be sure the PD never fires on them.

Google to the rescue! According to this post PDs do not fire on Thargoid caustic missiles.
Ah OK! Cool. Well, I understand the PD will still be useful once I start the path I need to to getting Guardian FSD Booster, I believe :)

I actually never had a Point Defence Tower with me for guardian stuff. But it is annoying how the Sentinel's missile topple your SRV over and I got more than once stuck in an awkward position. Plus it can be a pain on timed runs.
That's why I first lure all the Sentinels out and do a second run after the timer reset.
With some practice I find 2 Sentinels are manageable, 3 at the same time still pose a threat to my SRV. Their AI must have suffered through the millennia, use obstacles to your advantage. SRV repair is free when you dock, but you need mats to synth Ammo and Fuel btw.

Hey, Rooster, make sure the PD is on top of the ship when you visit the Guardian sites!

That C3 you been posting pics of has all of the utility mounts on the under side.

You may want to buy a disposable, like a Diamondback, max the jump, then mount PDs & SRV hangar when you go hunting Guardian gear. Sentinels do a vertical launch, so the PD has to be capable of shooting Upwards.

Edit: Hat tip to @aRJay
