Well off I pop to Lave to get my 50 bottles or Brandy for the engineer with a drink problem and there is only 24 bottles!! Had a look at inara there is no one else selling this, not even fleet carriers. So I've basically just bought the last 24 remaining bottles in the entire galaxy. Now here in lies the crux, I've tried to unlock this engineer before and was like o ill have to wait till more comes in stock and low and behold I get ganked and gang banged from every pirate in the system and breaking my back doors in with their limp.....

Why the can I not store inventory items on a station somewhere or not be able to buy these bottles all at once considering they're a necessity for the thousands of players logging in and doing this. And no I get to play this like 2 hours a day I am not buying a fleet carrier, I guess I will log off and keep checking to see when lave station dig out some more of this ultra rare ing water.

It was the same for me, 24 bottles, all drunkard pirates trying to interdict me (they didn't succeed). So for me it was 24+24+2 bottles. That is, what doing it three times? By the time I'd take those bottles to the engineer, they'd resupply it back in Lave.

It was more annoying than anything else.

Take 24 to engineer.
Go back and pick up another 24, deliver to engineer.
Go back and pick up another 24, deliver 2 to engineer, sell remaining for profit.
Engineer unlocked, finished, don't have to do it ever again.

Note: If you sit in the station with 24 in your hold, the stock will not replenish.

Aw I've just gone to bed. Didn't think it replinish that quick.

Indeed the refresh mechanic on rares is so silly and to top it off, they won't refresh at all if you have ANY already in your cargo hold (the latter part i didn't find out 'til during a recent CG 😂🎏)...

Someone had said, you'd get a second batch to add to your first load if you bought one less than the stations' full allocation, but not so - i'll have to play this same little dance with Kimatra Cigars in the next few days to unlock one of the engineers that does more than level 1 powerplant modifications, as i can't get more out of my Anaconda's powerplant with Farseer now 😃 .

Try "teabagging".
You need one other player with you. While you wait outside, they dock at the station, get the allocation of rares and then abandon them from their hold near your ship so you can pick up the containers with collector limpets. Repeat until satisfied / number reached. Do this some way away from the station if you want avoid littering fines. If you do it in Open, keep a lookout for players intent on enriching your experience.

i found if youre ships cargo hold is empty the bottles will spawn so deliver to engineer and go back for more,dont leave any in cargo,i did the rare goods cg like that only i stored at my fc
