Fiction Holiday Book Pack

There really needs to be a bundle of all the Elite: Dangerous books on Amazon in a Holiday Book Pack of some sort. I have some of the books already but, I'd buy it :D

If all the books were in a single place that required one click to purchase all of them, I wouldn't have to look each one up, hope I got them all and there might be an associated discount for the package, considering all the books were purchased.

Just an idea.

I'm afraid its unlikely at this stage. There are a variety of reasons. My post here explains some of this: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=48702&p=860437&viewfull=1#post860437

To elaborate further. I have as yet received no income from books sales. I expect the other FBP authors haven't either. I'm entirely happy with that at this stage and content to wait for my publisher to organise this when he's ready. However, I wouldn't be happy seeing my work discounted, particularly before Elite: Dangerous is actually released when we hope we will all see a substantial rise in sales.

I'm sorry if that isn't the answer you were looking for.

All of the books are on Amazon, you can add them all from there, finding them is not too difficult.

Well I wasn't suggesting the Authors take a cut to profit, I would think the publisher would absorb the delta due to increased sales as a whole.

Sounds like you guys are getting the short end of the stick with this book deal from what I've read. I've bout three of the books so far, plan to buy more as my budget allows. It is mysterious why the books aren't in the FD store though if it weren't for my simplistic understanding of contracts and no compete clauses and the like.

I know it's of no monetary value but, at least people are reading, enjoying and thankful the books were written.

Good luck! Hope you guys don't get screwed on this.

Thanks. I don't think you're quite reading the situation with all the information. I'm not concerned at this stage, as I said.

The outlay for the release of several titles at the same time in multiple formats is significant. Someone takes the risk on that and that's a brave thing to bet your livelihood on as a small publisher. I have a lot of respect for FBP in stepping up to the plate and doing so. As I said, it wouldn't make financial sense to discount prior to the game release. Bear in mind, we wrote everything with May as a target date and as things have gone, it has meant you all have the work prior to the main event (the game). We still have the audio versions to come and once the whole product line is out, it may be a question to revisit.

The hold up on books being in the Frontier Store is another matter. I can assure you we all want that.

Please do

I understand the authors' arguments but if I type "elite dangerous" in the kindle store I get 9 titles to choose from and each of em costs about 7€ and it's kinda hard to decide which one to pick. They're all published around the same time so one cannot go from first to last, there are no sagas or trilogies or whatever that links one to the next, so basically it's a shot in the dark to pick one vs the others. I understand that shooting in the dark is something we all like :p but .... you know what I mean right?

In any case, thanks for feeding our (not so) imaginary worlds :)

You're welcome. Was our pleasure.

I think you have to make a decision based on what you read and see of each project. Frontier will decide if there are more licenses available (and chances for trilogies). In the meantime, read the Amazon samples, read the reviews and see which book appeals.

As Allen says, you can read the first chapter of all the books, decide which writing style you like the best. Or read the reviews which will tell you pretty quickly the style of the book.

What John said. I'm working my way through everyone's (slowly) and each has something unique to add to the lore and a different feel. The E: D galaxy is immense and it was great fun playing in a small part of it.
