You need to add these two options.

"I support whoever I feel like at moment."

And "I support the most profitable side."

Lol didn't the Ferengi used to say... War is good for business and then peace is good for business?

Honestly while I'll mainly be an independent player I think I will ultimately side with the Alliance as they seem to be the only ones who attempted to solve the Thargoid issue rather than throw enough weapons at it to make it go away. That whole aspect of the storyline was the main redeeming aspect of FFE and I'd like to continue on with it.

the Empire.

Who would not want a Title, many shiny medals, accoutrements a-glinting?

Who would not want a glorious Leader to follow, with the prospect of judicious marriage propelling one to His court?

Not to mention a choice of slaves from the Sybarism Planet.......

Or you could go vote and make no damn difference......

Those politicians are all liars and thieves! I trust none of them, and choos eto stay under the radar, claiming the odd bounty, carrying out the odd mission, then being on my merry...

Z...

My CMDR alter ego is a fanatical anarchist, so will fight to maintain or create the smallest political units possible, violently opposing any attempt at consolidation for any reason.

Rule of Acquisition #34 "War is good for business."

Rule of Acquisition #35 "Peace is good for business."

Full support for The Federation. They saved me from a long term prison sentence dished out by the short sighted Emperials and I am eternally grateful for that.

Federation can do no wrong.

The question really is: Will your Commander character be based on your own personal moral/religious/ethical/political code or a complete fiction for the purpose of gameplay?

I will be supporting the Alliance because there are too many aspects of the Empire (slavery, patrician behaviour, caste system) and the Federation (corporate greed, corruption) which I don't like. In Elite 2 I was a Fed supporter, but recent game events, specifically the Eranin situation, have changed my mind. That's not a fiction, that's me.

That doesn't mean to say that in another persona (assuming multiple commanders can be created) that I won't be a free-booting pirate with multiple bounties on my head or an Imperial slavemaster seeking to oppress a planet or two or a fiercely independent Han Solo-type trader/smuggler.

This is Elite, anything goes!

I voted undecided. Although i could probably make a choice based on what is written about all the factions, i am waiting for what the game itself will make me feel about each one. One should have a slightly diferent game experience depending on what side you align with, regarding purpose, way of doing things, diferent opportunities for whatever (ships, equipmente, exploration.. etc) and so far i have yet to discover if this will be true, or to what extent.

Originally I was quite anti-Empire mostly because of their policies regarding slavery. Then I saw one of the Imperial ships.

I've since then decided to remain independent and neutral as a bounty hunter, explorer and courier.

Well Empire, what else!?
Greed and corruption form a perfect environment for mercs/bounty hunters, so picking the Empire makes a lot of sense.
And as it has already been said: they've got the coolest ships...

I support the Empire because the poll lacks a Thargoid option.

Seriously though: I plan to play a lot of Ironman and expect to die a lot. Since I plan to set another goal for each new Commander I create, I'll likely get to see a little of all sides. Generally, I favour the Empire though - less prohibition, more freedom and more appealing ship designs.
