ANNOUNCEMENT Hello World! Issues with the new forum? Please post here.

Great work, some niggles:
On Mobile (Chrome 38 on Nexus 5)
  • Rep button missing from left end of post footer
  • No way to change away from the default blue on white theme that I can find
On Desktop (Chrome 38)
  • Editor create link, email, unlink, insert image/movie button icons are harder to recognise
  • The links to ED twitter, facebook, youtube, instagram pages in the forum header in the ED theme are not contextually related to the forum as implied by their location - these would be better at the top of the page next to the ED logo.
  • ED theme red is a bit too red to use so much of.

I'm not having the nexus 5 problem. Are you off the mobile skin? Try requesting desktop version in the chrome menu. Other than that, I changed the skin on my Chromebook and it seems to have stuck.

On Internet Explorer 11 Metro version the cursor won't stay in the text input box. It takes numerous tries to make it stick. Annoying if you're using a Windows tablet. You also can't put spaces between sentences; it all gets squashed together.

The previous version of the forum worked fine, BTW.

The main issue, and I'm not the one to complain, ever, is the current choice of 'Elite Faction' in the settings. Sirius Corporation is missing. Surely just a minor legal issue. I shall expect it to be available sooon™ ;)

This is a new browser to me. Will give it a whirl on one of my VM's.

Really, Ok. ta

Also there is Cyberfox x64 and WaterFox x64. A bit niche but not so much amount people that have lots of tabs and ram and want a browser that better handles both. I have over 1000 tabs running in palemoon x64. Sometimes nearly 2000 when I get lazy.

Hmm! CTRL F5 for me now, let me know if the issue is fixed.

Am in the process of whipping up another elite-ish theme that shouldn't be as vibrant/in-your-face coloring. :)
Great. IMO all this theme needs is for the header/border colour to be toned away from the red and more towards the yellow/orange. I realise red is the colour of the "Dangerous" highlight on the ED logo but it's really a bit too intense to be such a prominent part of a forum theme.

This mock-up was done using a simple colour replacement, the destination colour being lifted from a screen grab of the in-game heat gauge. It's #E46E00 for those who speak RGB.

I find this much less harsh on the eyes, and it matches the landing pad hologram colours from the forum background so it's still an Elite colour scheme of sorts.

If there's a disadvantage it's that it's maybe a little too close to how parts of the old forum looked. But I'm sure there's a middle ground. The red/orange is just too intense.

Hi Brett C, fantastic job on the new forum. Huge improvement even if it takes getting used to.

Have encountered one issue so far.
When I look at my profile and click "Find latest posts" top left, the search doesn't find my latest posts. Seems that all posts after Aug 24th are left out.
This seems to be the case for all the different profiles.
If I click the "about me" tab in my profile my most recent post is listed correctly.

Hum, alright, will need to find a post ID around that time i guess, and continue another rebuild from that point on. Thanks for the heads up. :)

My profile lists all of my posts today, then goes back to 26/08/14 (in case that helps).

Thanks for the info. This is getting fixed up as we speak.

That would be spot on for me:)

Oh yea one more thing .... can we get peoples post count back and thier info for example where they are from and such like

lovin the auto merge lol
Post counts and join dates won't be making a return to actual posts any longer. While i know people can click a username and view their profile to get that information... removing it directly from posts is a basic deterrent from people making arguments of "oh you joined this month, you must be an idiot!" or "I have so many posts, bow down to me because i know more!!". I may add them back when you click their user name, in that menu box however.
