Python : It's good isnt it!

After kicking around the stars in a Cobra MK.IV for a number of years, I have finally gotten around to purchasing an FD Python.

What a ship!

I think the whole pandemic thing is making me want for a nice comfortable, reliable, homely 'ol ship and this fits the bill perfectly.

To give you an idea of how long it's taken me to getting around to this... its now getting a GPP (game preview program!) decal on the hull.

It's almost making me want to take a trip to Colonia but I'm a bit lazy when it comes to attempting the crazy jump ranges people are getting these days. I remember when 30Ly was decent

Still, it's not all about that range is it.

Not much else to add, just thought I'd show some appreciation for a ship that probably doesn't actually need any 😁

There were three ships I never had for a long time: Python, Anaconda, FDL.*
When I finally got round to buying a Python... well, it's probably my most used ship across three accounts, I just love flying it, even though I may have more suitable ships available for a particular job.

* I have a few specialised Anacondas, still don't have an FDL.

I find it really interesting how they make these bigger more expensive ships, really feel and sound like a bigger more expensive ship!

I didn't think a spaceship could sound of premium quality until playing Elite.

Yeah, hard to believe the Python was actually nerfed. It's a great ship, with enough slots you don't really have to compromise too much on just about anything. Unless I'm doing out-and-out combat or long-jump exploration, it's my workhorse ship.

Very capable ship the python. But I've always wondered if it is an upgrade from the cobra 3/4, why is there still no cup holder?

I'm sure I saw a compartment in the centre, low level. It probably springs up from there.

Talking of extras, I couldn't help but notice the amount of maintenance access panels on the exterior of the hull, just ripe for arc-cutting.

Hmmmm

The Viper 4 may have a holder, but (reading a description of it in one of the books) it doesn't have crew like the Python 😁

Actually our Pythons don't have crew currently of course, but when they do, they could make the tea!
