Insects

I think Planet Zoo needs some new insects and arachnids like for example:
Trap door Spider:Exhibit
Whip scorpion: Exhibit
Madagascar hissing cockroach:Exhibit
Butterflies:Exhibit
Rhino Beetles:Exhibits
That’s all I can think of for now I’m sure there’s plenty more that can be added and by the way this is a whip scorpion it’s also called a vinegaroon

This game seriously need Mantis, Toebiters, Solifugid, Assassin Bugs, Ogre Spider/Web-Casting Spider, Mantis Shrimp, Emerald Wasp, Coconut Crab, Bobbit Worm, Millipede, Giant Wata.

Well, thats pretty much it for the coolest insects and similar creeps out there!

Absolutely agree with Butterflys but hopefully we'll get a Option to make the Exhibits invisible then. I would also be absolutely excited if we would get some kind of Mantis, the Mantis Shrimp and the Bobbit Worm. Don't understand why we didn't get some kind of aquatic Exhibit Animal yet. They proved it with the Diamond Back Terrapin that Animals that move around are also possible with the current Exhibit Model, so Fish and similar Animals should be possible without any Problems. I would like it to see Lobsters in the Game. Lobsters have so many different possible Mutations and it would be nice to see that in the Game if it should be possible to give a Animal more than one Color Mutation

That’s exactly what I was thinking we need some new exhibit animals

Yes please to all the above especially if warning: broken record alert we get different sized vivariums (vivaria?).
I'm no native English Speaker but I think Vivaria is the correct Plural. Also absolutely agree that we need different Sizes for Vivaria. Also noticed that smaller ones are really also needed because sometimes the Scorpions in the Nocturnal House of my previous Zoo can't be seen at all. But I'm really also hoping for bigger ones for big Reptiles

Yes that’s a great idea! I also have a list of some insects I would love to have in Planet Zoo:
  • Stick insects (there are many species of stick insects, but i suggest the giant stick insect (pharnacia pandarosa)
  • Leaf cutter ants (Atta colombica)
  • And Mantis (but that was already suggested 😊) I suggest the Giant Asian Mantis and Orchid Mantis
  • And Tropical butterflies is an awesome idea! I love butterflies. And if there is to be an aviary pack, butterflies would fit right in, as butterflies also need aviary-like accommodation.
What do you guys think of these insects?

I'm of two minds when it comes to insects and arachnids. On one hand, I do like them a lot, and I think there's a lot of really fun ones that can still be included both for aesthetics/uniqueness as well as to complete the "zoo experience."

But practically, they're very much anti-fun from a gameplay perspective. The exhibits are way too big for them so you barely even get to see them when peeking in. But worse than that is their breeding/lifespan. Either you let them breed, they do so explosively, and you've got protesters before you know it, or else you don't let them breed and they die out 5 seconds later. They need way too much attention for such small species that most people wouldn't give a second thought. For that reason I'd personally really prefer Frontier to focus on more lizards, turtles, and amphibians for the exhibits.

Which is why I think the exhibit system gravely needs some sort of management automation that lets you set different parameters, which the keepers use to manage the population size by deciding which animals are contracepted or moved into the trade center/sold.

Well thank you @redpanda9 I appreciate you liking my idea but I’ve decided I’m not coming back to frontier forums the developers don’t like my ideas and won’t use them or even listen to my advice I have been wanting them to use my ideas forever but they won’t do it so I’m leaving this website and never coming back, I just wanted to say thank you for liking my idea for new insects and arachnids.

They can't just implement everything Players want, so you just need to wait and hope. If you want to suggest some Species that should be in the Game, create a Post in the Habitat Animals Meta Wishlist if you didn't already (there's also one for Exhibit Animals, aquatic Animals and I think also one for Aviary Animals). It seems like they take this List sometimes into Consideration when deciding which Animals to include in the Game. I think the North America Pack even almost completely consists of Animals that got lots of Votes there

Soory, but why the devs should listen especially to you. I think every member of the community has its own wishes anand animal preferences. I also could complain that I wanted a Leopard, a Dik Dik and a dromedary since beginning of DLCs but they did not listen to me. But the devs cannot make everyone happy. An animal you do not prefer to have in the game was an animal another Person could have prefered.
At the end the devs hopefully somehow listen to the community wishes which is all of us to make the majority of players happy.

I wanted a leopard too I asked Tim Smith for it he said “I can’t make you any promises but I can share your compassion for this animal with the team” but I don’t believe him all they care about are there own ideas and making money if I could I wish I could tell everyone on here “they won’t accept anybody’s ideas no matter what” I that’s why I’m never coming back to this website.

First Frontier is a company. So they have to earn money with their products like every other company in the World, too.

Second, it is the game of frontier and they have every right to integrate their own ideas first. Would you write to an author because you have ideas for the continuation of a book series. And if you would to that you would either get noch answer or an answer like you got from Tim Smith. There is no reason for frontier to promise something to any player.

Third you are not the center of the world. Why should Frontier listen especially to your wishes? More than 300 people participated on the meta wishlist and everybody has its own ideas what would make the game better and which animals are missing.

As a whole community we probably have some impact what animals are chosen for the game but as a single player you have no impact for sure. There is no reason to be disappointed on somebody. I would advice you just to relax a bit. Be happy if one of your wishes was fullfilled and discuss on the Forum like the other members here. The other option is further taking your wantings more important as they are which leads to disappointment and frustration when you again do not get all your wishes.

"They won't accept anybody's ideas no matter what" is untrue. Like others expressed before, they do consider the META-wishlist, which has been very evident from the last 3 DLCs. They also listen to specific wishes of the community regarding new behaviours, which is why we now have digging and burrowing in the game. I think they deserve a lot of credit for the new animals we got this year, as well as changes in behaviour and new construction pieces.

However, in a game with perhaps hundreds of thousands of players (basing this on the fact that the subreddit already has over 70.000 members), it would be impossible to listen to literally anybody who comes to them demanding a specific animal. I honestly think you've been a bit rude by approaching a developer personally and simply asking for this species (which will inevitably come into the game at some point), and his response is very reasonable.

I agree with the post above and if I were you I wouldn't worry too much about getting a leopard. It's high on the list and we have at least one more year of DLCs, so it will make it in at one point. But if they give all popular animals now, the game would be dead in a few months and I don't think anyone of us would like that. They also need money to develop the game and perhaps finance a sequel. Meanwhile, if popular animals remain demanded, the game could live on for up to five more years.

Back to the topic for now, since I came to this thread because I'm also interested in more invertebrates. It seems like we're getting a Lord Howe's Island Stick Insect soon (based on leaks), which is a cool and original choice. Next to that, I would love to see:
  • Orchid Mantis
  • Toebiter
  • Coconut Crab
  • Cave Cricket
  • Hercules Beetle
  • Atlas Beetle
  • Tailless Whip Scorpion
  • Hermit Crab
  • Giant African Millipede

Horseshoe Crabs and Japanese Spider Crabs would also be amazing, though I don't know how they could be implemented. The current exhibit system wouldn't work, and habitats also doesn't seem like a perfect idea.

@TheYeti
I’m sorry I’m autistic I just really want an Indian Leopard because they are found in zoos too, I shouldn’t have been rude asking Tim Smith for an Indian Leopard I’ll just keep waiting until the next DLC. Again I am very sorry.

I’m sorry, I’m autistic I just want one of my ideas to be accepted that’s all, I’ve played lots of zoo games and they have lots of different animals in those games I just thought it would be a great idea for an Indian Leopard.
