SRV and Handbrake with a controller issue

Hi, i'm playing on pc, but for various reasons i'm using an xbox-like controller, and i always had issues with the srv bindings:

If you start from the Default Context bindings, you have the handbrake binded to "A", but if you keep the "enable context menu" enabled, it won't work if the handbrake is set on hold.
So you have either to disable the context menu (in which case holding the hanbrake works), or leave the handbrake as the only combination for the key (as it is for the "B" for the thrusters, which works because it's the only binding in the default context).

The intention of leaveing the handbrake as the only combination for "A" led me to another issue:
There isn't a specifing SRV rebind for increase/decrease sensor zoom, which are inherited from the ship, as A+RB and A+LB, so i cannot remove them for the A key for the SRV without affecting the ship controls.

Can anyone confirm those issues or am i missing something?
Thanks.

PS: It's a long time it bothers me and i wanted to ask, until now i'm working around it setting the handbrake to toggle

I’ve always used a wireless Xbox 360 pad for ED - and for the rare occasions I need to do a handbrake skid in the SRV I tend to do what is essentially a slow double tap of A.

Aren’t there a few blank combo bindings available? Could you use them for the sensors and leave the A+bumper combo alone so you don’t affect your ship?

I play Elite Controller only, Ship/SRV and now on Foot, the key really is to use combo inputs. I got some buttons doing nothing on there own, but only when used with something else. But I also use a Xbox Elite pad plus rewasd for some extra buttons, creating using a mix of controller and keyboard inputs on my controller.

Granted, my whole keybinding at this point is a mess, so much got added over the Years and if you ask me how to do what while I'm not playing I couldn't tell you. But when I'm in Game hands on controller my muscle memory handles it flawless lol

B is free for the thrusters, maybe i should move the bindings for Y or X, and use one of them for handbrake, but they just made sense as they were.
They should stil add sensor rebind for the SRV profile

Are you then able to use the extra buttons of the elite controller as, well, extra buttons, maybe binding them to keyboard keys?
I have a pad with a couple of extra buttons, but they are just rebinds of existing buttons

Yes, on its own the elite controller can't map keyboard keys there but rewasd handles that for me so I have keyboard keys on the backpaddles. In case of the srv I got Handbreak, thruster and shooting weapon/scanning on the backpaddles so I can do those things without taking hands off the sticks.

There is a free version of rewasd but I'm not sure how much that let you do or if it is limited time only. But I like the programm a lot, you can check it out here: https://www.rewasd.com/

Ah, I didn’t realise you meant that the sensors can’t be rebound separately - I haven’t checked, I must admit. I suppose adding them into the secondary binding section might conflict with something else.
